You’re probably new to the game if you haven’t experienced any issues with the wheel yet. I can open it and clearly see the item I want to use light up but when letting go it still doesn’t get chosen sometimes. So yes your assessment was correct. Lol.
Eh well you said it could save your bum. But I mean it would still take time to open the wheel up and choose the accelerant so ok maybe you’ll save 0,3 seconds. How that ever could save anyone’s bum I’ll never know.
I’m not saying accelerants aren’t useful but they are not that critical. I mean it takes a good 7 seconds to use it and for most characters it’s not a guaranteed full charge anyway.
Gold backpacks doesn’t speed those up btw.
‘You’re probably new to the game’. HAHAHA, any regulars of this forum wanna comment on this for me? :P mods you’re allowed too as well xD. No need to get into that one.
If I need a new health/shield item it requires muscle memory. I don’t even have to look at the screen to know where the item is, so it’s done in less than 0.3 seconds... getting to your inventory + actually locating, hovering AND using the item takes way longer and you know it.
What are you talking about? Gold backpack lowers all ‘useables’ including ultimate accellerants.
- 6 years ago@Koochi-Q You call it med wheel in your very first sentence in this thread. Who cares, it’s in the title as well. Does not matter, we’re all talking about the same wheel and everything on there HEALS you. You asked what my point was - what do you think? Accelerants don’t heal you. That’s the point and that’s why it’s so childish to point out something like “sHiEldS aRe noT mEds”.
If you’re on console and never had any issues with the wheel then congrats! Good for you.
Maybe some will struggle more to locate the item and click it but all I’m saying is it doesn’t belong in the healing wheel and most players would agree believe me. Nothing more to add.
Ok maybe they’ve updated the backpack because it didn’t speed it up before. If so, my bad. - 6 years ago
@h5mf0vcnd32wWow did not even remember that since it’s so insignificant... you either have a very good memory or just wanted to prove a point that badly that you went back and checked. Either way dedication.
I said shields are not meds since shields are not meds and that has nothing to do with the wheel. But whatever. Cause you still haven’t answered my Wattson hypothetical so I’ll leave it.
It doesn’t belong there for you and other people but there are others that would like it in there. I tend not to believe what an individual says unless I see either see a study prove something or see something being quoted by a maker - which in this case would mean nothing pertaining to the subject.
Uhm... I am either very mistaken or what happend last time was something of a fluke or something but I had a gold backpack + wattson and it didn’t take 7 seconds... I’ll have to test this out and see if it’s a bug... In any case I might be wrong on this point. - 6 years ago
@Koochi-Q You're right about gold backpacks speeding up all consumables. I mostly play Gibraltar so I burn through a lot of ultimate accelerants. Though I'm surprised you haven't had any issue with the med wheel since it's a frequent annoyance for me. I forget what causes it but often when I pop an accelerant or grab a new healing item, it changes my default item back to syringe or med pack. Really frustrating having to go through the med wheel to change it back to shield cells or battery.
Also your point on healing is ridiculous. Whenever most players take damage they pop a shield cell, shield battery, syringe, or med kit but not an ultimate accelerant. It can be used to aid healing but its ridiculous to consider it a healing item.
As Gibraltar I've popped accelerants to win fights quite often so I can see why you'd like this change but most of the time people use them when recovering from a fight or heading to a new one. Unlike the healing items there's rarely any situation that needs an emergency ultimate accelerant and I especially can't see the need for Wattson players.
- 6 years ago@heme725 I think I’m either really lucky or something. I’ve not had the reset bug either but I did hear about it :P
Lolz I’d be surprised if someone would do an accelerant if getting shot. ‘Hey I got shot... lemme do my ultimate!’ That’s a bit weird. But I think it’s in reference to that other person’s comment regarding popping the accelerant during a battle. That I do but only if I know I can get away with it and if my ult will help.
As gibraltar, lifeline (in early/mid game), wattson, lifeline, caustic if final circle is indoors and bloodhound it’s good to have spare accelerants in your pocket for the end. Wait you can’t see the need for wattson players using it? - 6 years ago
@Koochi-Q Oh yeah there's nothing more satisfying than making it rain as Gibraltar during the last ring. Your squad indoors and the other outside on the roof. Drop your Ult then aim your gun at the doors for an easy win.
Also no I don't see the need for it but I'm not saying she gets no benefit from ultimate accelerants. Her Ult charges quickly on its own and only takes a single accelerant to get it back. When I play her she has her ultimate ready for most fights whether I charge it or not. She benefits from popping them but because she charges her Ult quickly on her own she's never needed them as badly as my fave character.
There are situations this change could help but overall I think this change would have little value to most players or even be seen as a detriment.
- 6 years ago@heme725 I know, I’ve won a couple of games with gibraltar like that. When playing with some buddies we had roughly 4 accelerants ready for first who threw ult. One caustic and one gibraltar xD. Making it rain outdoors and if they come charging in our dome, making it stink indoor :P good times.
True true. I just like having an ult ready as Wattson, pop it, throw an interceptor as bullet fodder/throwable repellent. But you make good points - 6 years ago@h5mf0vcnd32w Well I can confirm that gold backpack speeds up accellerants and now I know for sure that it’s always been this way
