I THINK IT JUST NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME.

Charge Rifle changes can be found in the Oct 17th server side patch: https://answers.ea.com/t5/News-Game-Updates/Oct-17-Server-Patch/td-p/8328933
Give it a go this weekend and let us know what your thoughts are on Monday. 👍- 6 years ago
@EA_Blueberry Thank you very much for addressing this issue as I think it is a real problem effecting Apex. Sadly I myself am on holiday until Friday 25th so I can't play Apex until then.
I worry however that the ammo consumption will still not be a major barrier to use. I would only every carry 1 stack of 80 ammo for the charge, and that was way more than enough... carrying 2 instead doesn't seem like a major hassle. Lower mag capacity also is helpful but I fear doesn't really go far enough to change much.
As for the damage I don't understand because I know I have often did well over 90 dmg with the Charge before the update, often getting 110ish and I think once or twice even pushing into the mid 120s... those were with head-shots without a doubt but still therefore I don't know how to relate it back to what Respawn said as the figures of 90 and 60 are obviously not the highest damage the weapon could do. Decreasing the damage output range by 50m-100m doesn't sound like it would be enough to really negate the power of the weapon but we shall see.
I don't see ammo or mag size having a major effect on anything, so it's really only the range which makes a difference and that doesn't sound like enough to negate the power this weapon has over others... however can't wait until the end of the week to actually try it for myself.

This "nerf" really didn't do anything, it's still way overpowered and super easy to use.
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry I made a thread here on the day of the patch after figuring out the changes myself.

Long story short, the nerf wasn't enough. It problems are still there. At this point there are two options. Make it a Care Package Weapon with the L-Star out of the Care Package on replacement of the Charge Rifle. Or Make the Charge Rifle a lower spawn rate in locations around the map like you did to the Wingman way back in Season 1.- 6 years ago
Thanks for the confirmation, when I read about the changes I had the feeling it didn't go far enough, ammo and mag size were never really the issues with the Charge. So frustrating to not be able to play Apex this week...
I'm not sure if a simple lower spawn rate would be enough though Leo, you could still end up with quite a few in play in later stages of the game. If they don't have the time to change the weapon mechanically then I think care package is the best option... although I think that would be a shame in some regards. I quite like the charge rifle, I just think it should be made much harder to use (recoil, longer charge time etc.) so that only very skilful play/use gets the rewards of big damage.
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry After playing 10+ hours of ranked matches this weekend on XBL, it does not feel like the nerf was enough to make the gun balanced. It is still a god-tier gun compared to every other weapon, including the kraber and mastiff.
If it's going to be a common gun, it needs a major overhaul to make it balanced. I think most of us would prefer to see it become a care package golden gun though, from everyone i've talked to and read! Well, those that don't just want it removed outright...
