US CASUAL PLAYERS NEED HELP WITH SBMM

please fix sbmm for us players that just spend a hr or 2 playing the game.

all i deal with now days is sweats tap straphing and moving around so fast i cant even turn fast enough to keep my screen on them.

i run a 2 ads and 3 non ads for sensitivity and cant keep up with the players in the lobbys anymore.

i feel like a broken record bringing this up almost every season but it just keeps getting worse and worse.

i dont even bother buying the battle passes anymore i cant even finish them this game has gotten so hard.

been playing since season one but now days i feel like i need to retire this game.

i feel like this is a long shot but an idea, sectioning sbmm with sensitivity levels 1-3 4-6 7-max?

  • @Myway186 I don't agree with separation by sensitivity as skill level is separate to control sensitivity. Some of the best players in the world use low sensitivity, some use high sensitivity.
But we definitely need a fix for sbmm. Every game for me seems to have Masters/Preds (often 3 stacks) or a full team of 4k/20 bomb badges as either the Champion squad or the team that kills me. And the kill counts on most of these players are insane.
I'm a casual player myself. But because of the sweats, I don't really enjoy the game any more. Just play each day to do my daily challenges for Battle Pass.

It's not a perfect solution but matchmaking based on K/D would solve this for most players. It would put you in games with people of similar skill and allow you to compete and improve. And probably enjoy the game more.

So, I don't agree that it's a sensitivity issue but I do agree it needs to change.

SSBM can't be fixed in a free to play game.

If you played long enough  for the system to notice you as a "good" player....

    new free email account...

    new free game account...

    let the slaughter begin

Sadly, a matchmaking based on KD (or dmg dealt etc) would only work for a brief period of time after its launched. People forget that the current KD that every player has is a direct result of the current matchmaking, i.e stats like KD or dmg dealt etc strongly correlates to the skill level of your opponent. After some time in a KD based matchmaking, there would be no correlation between skill and KD and lobbies would be very mixed again.

I think the best way to allow casual players to have a fair gaming experience would be to make pubs solo Q only with totally randomly generated teams. This would be be fair because you would know that there would be no 3-man high elo stacks, that every enemy team you fight had equally high chance of being as good or bad as your randomly generated team, with equally high chance of being incomplete due to early leavers.

Now people will maybe say that this would punish 3-man stacks who want to play casually. But to that, I would answer that I see no reason why 3-stacks premade would abuse the system to smash teams of randoms in pubs. Most game separate premades from solo queuing players even in casual mode, for the sake of the competitive fairness.

KDR isn't a complete measure of skill as it is relative to your opponents' skills.   For example, my KDR would be lower (close to 0.0 TBH) playing preds than in noob lobbies.  Everyone except preds would settle around 1.0 KDR of KDR if that was all that was used.

Respawn would have to analyze more stats like accuracy, survivability (avg time alive, avg damage, etc) to get at true "skill".  You know better players just by watching (your eyes don't lie) but how do you measure that for use in a matchmaking system?

Respawn's system sucks but they've said they'll never tell us how they do it or if/when they change it.
