Weapon blasting through skin

What kind of weapon can blast through skin like a piece of cake? Been finding myself getting knocked pretty easily when meeting an enemy, but I can never figure out what kind of weapon he/she is using, 'cause it seems like I get knocked in two seconds (no matter what shield I'm using) after getting in a few shots on them. So, does anyone know what kind of weapon that blast and kill with only two shots?

    If the player is aiming down the sights with the Mastiff at close range or using a Kraber they can do some hefty damage if it hits you in the helmet. Try and record a clip next time you run across a situation like that and share it here so we can try to see which weapon they're using. 👍
