What happend to loot?

This whole season I got a very hard time to find midrange weapons and specially OPTICS. (except sniper optics...they come in bulk everywhere)
It's game after game where i find buildings full of grenades, siringes and other useless crap early game, but nothing to work with as for weapons.

It's great you removed armors, but seems you replaced them all with grenades.

First time since a longtime, i dont feel like playing this season to the end.

KDR went from 1.9 to 0.7 simply cus i got nothing to fight with and yea im not the best, but that doesnt matter 🙂

  • This is S19 data, so not sure how much this has changed with S20, but the changes are probably quite small.

Every time something spawns within a loot zone (Low, Medium, High) it has around a 22% chance of it being a weapon, and around 15% chance of it being an attachment. (Once an attachment is selected, it has roughly the same chance with a few exceptions to become any kind of attachment)

Then once a weapon is selected, it'll also roll a dice to determine which weapon will spawn.

I haven't gone through this quite deeply yet, but it seems like certain shotguns have a higher chance than spawning, for the rest it's roughly an equal chance to get any kind of gun (low to long range)

POI High zones on the map have a higher chance of spawning low-tier weapons, so it's likely that there will be more weapons in general, meaning a higher chance of a midrange weapon to start off with.

Overall, it seems quite fair and equal and it's possible to be unlucky from time to time, though it shouldn't be all too bad.

In my own experience, I haven't really had a lot of issues with it either, might be related to where you are dropping?

Again, I don't have the updated loot tables, so this could've deviated by a bit as S20 has had some changes to the lootpool in general.

If they had added the spawn % to ordnance from the shield spawns then the change would be negligible for normal zones except for POI High and Ultra spawns, as those have a higher chance of spawning a shield. (So unless they made massive changes to the loot pool, it probably is just being unlucky)

Just had about 10 matches in row where all i found was p20's or nothing at all...had 1 match where i found a spitfire, but till the end of game didnt see a single optic, except sniper optics.
I find million grenades, but nothing really usefull to have an actual fight.

Call it luck/unlucky...i call it bad programming.  It's always like this:  where you find 1 type of item/weapon....you see them in bulk everywhere in that area.   I just opened a container and it had 3x p20 in it, next container had 2 grenades and 1 termite.  Couple meter away, theres floor loot, again 2x p20s and a grenade.

Guess this is just not my game when it come to getting lucky then and time to find something else to play that doesnt frustrate me like this.   Thanks for the statistics tho

Ground loot is trash at least for me.

Example: I land in a barrack with 4 bins. My enemy got the first bin and already had shotgun, he starts shooting at my teammate.

I go to all three remaining bins - no weapon AT ALL!

I have had countless such games. Land where there are more than few bins around, got to at least three without any weapon in it. Enemy got weapon in the first one.

I once had a game where after landing I opened 10 bins without any weapon in it.

I would say that while ground loot has been horrendous for many season running now, this season seems to be better to me. I'm not talking about hot drop loot. That's always a big risk and it always will be. And it should be. But I'm always looking for a tripletake and a 2/4 scope. This season I'm actually finding them pretty regularly. Sometimes late in the game, which is not ideal, but it's rare for me to get to the end of a match with a place-holder weapon. Of course, this is just my own experience, but it's based on a lot of matches for whatever that's worth.

Quick update: Right around the time they stripped the tridents off the maps they also seem to have done a loot devaluation. It still isn't as bad as previous seasons, but those tripletakes have become noticeably harder to find and the 2/4 scopes are almost as rare as a turbo. Do they really think no one will notice???

I don't know why they can't make it so that there is 1 gun at each loot location, at least early game and that a loot spot is never empty.  The scarcity of optics is something I've noticed for several season, too.  It feels like they take them out of the loot pool on purpose at times.  Not finding a gun in an entire building, opening a loot bin and finding 2 syringes and 2 empty spots, or getting to Round 3 without an optic is just ridiculous.

I will say that the newer POi's are better and the loot density is much higher.  Almost like they designed them with the loot algorithm in mind.  Funny thing.  . .
