Probably someone at respawn who is not capable of thinking about possible exploits though it was a good idea. People already jumping off the map to dupe their armors.
Some people just get hired at higher levels even they don't have the qualifications for the job and keep messing things up. Like promotion trials, respawning with armor etc. All of those things create more issues than the issues they have resolved. Any person with above average intelligence can foresee what will happen but some respawn employees just can't. Imagine trying to come up with a better ranked system than season 14 for 2 full seasons and they still can't do it. At this point they either sabotaging the game or just no idea about the ranked mechanics.
@el7uarvszheoYes, and I truly believe most if not all of the developers at Respawn do not actually play their own game.
The respawn change and the ranked trials are both solutions to problems nobody had.
The current ranked system is what Respawn wants because they think everybody wants 6 teams alive in the final ring. Unfortunately, the unintended consequence of that is most matches are 15 minutes of hide and seek to get there. Decidedly not fun by most people's standards.
