@PublicIDexists2Lower ranked players playing with their high ranked friends in sweaty lobbies is a way that it ISN'T a grind, man :/ My friends who don't have time are still playing gold with us because they're good players.
Bads wont get high in the time they've got to do it.
A rigid bracket system simply won't work for OCE region as there aren't enough players.
It is a grind for those who have the time and for those who don't, like I said before, that sucks. But it's no one's fault but the game designers. If they change the parameters of how you get to higher ranks instead of amount of time one is able to play the game then this would be a non issue and those who don't have all the time in the world would stop being penalized. But that's not the case right now. And I am highly doubtful that this is going to change this season, which sucks. Because Apex has to be my favorite game since it came out and it sucks even more that it's being controlled by people who seemingly don't even care about it. I'm sorry if we don't see eye to eye on this issue. But I hope we have both gotten at least a little more insight into the other side of the spectrum.
- 7 years ago@PublicIDexists2 I can't tell anymore if you're complaining about the grind or lauding it as a good thing to keep more casual players out of higher leagues mate :S You're confusing me a little bit.
What spectrum are we talking about as well?- 7 years ago
We are talking about all players. And I'm talking about honestly working through the ranks. If you're good then you should get a higher rank. If you're not then you shouldn't. Just because someone has all the time in the world to play doesn't mean they should necessarily come into a high rank. But the way they have set up the ranking system, that's exactly what will happen. And that sucks. But if they want to make it competitive like they say they want to, then ranks should not be able to mix. I believe that ranks should be based off of K/D ratio and win/loss ratio. So if player 1 has higher stats than player 2, then player 1 should have a higher ranking no matter how many hours or how many games each has played. I believe this is a more fair and honest route and would set the stage for a better and more competitive ranking system.
- 7 years ago@PublicIDexists2 I'm not meeting bad players in gold at all. I know it's early days but I really don't think you're going to meet bad players in Apex Pred league before the seasons ends. There won't be enough time for someone crap to slug through and collect enough RP for their losses to be mitigated.
I don't have a problem at all with people playing in brackets they've not reached yet because of their playtime. I play with some guys who work shifts and they're top tier players, but they don't have time to grind and no system unless it was RAW kd/wins etc would work in their favour, and my region would be the poorer for not having them in higher lobbies.
Kills just aren't the measure of skill that people think in this game. Players who have been dropping skull every game for 4 months have high kills, no matter how good they are.
