why does a hipfire lmg out dps a shotgun at close range

@LocustSniper Depends who lands their shots, if you hit high damage shotgun shots you win but if im over there crouch spamming and hitfiring with a spitfire, R-99, flatline, volt, etc your likely dead if your missing shots or hitting small damage numbers sometimes I hit high damage shotgun shots and other times nah
