100 million players! Hype!

Lets look at the figures then shall we.

1 million in 8 hours.

2.5 million in a day.

25 million in a week.

70 million in just over 6 months.

100 million in 2 years.

Season 1 and 2 (first 6 months) having a great game with phenomenal growth, but after that it took them a year and a half to grow just over a quarter of what they did in the first 2 seasons and this is likely counting all those smurfs too. This actually looks really bad when you consider that smurfing only took hold during Season 3 with the changes to SBMM becoming much stricter then.

Hmmm.....

@apostolateofDOOM But the key, they are doing something right, right now. I feel like they are heading the right direction overall. I might not always like everything, but I'm having better overall experiences in the game and more fun. So hopefully they can keep building on that momentum.

@apostolateofDOOM Well thats the same with most things tho :P either it goes off as a bomb or goes gradually after some event. Just look at facebook, skype, any other social media... heck even Among Us XD

@apostolateofDOOM I've got it. After much deliberation and analysis of the statement:
"100 million strong, and we're just getting started. Thank you, Legends!"

Means just that - there are 100 million legends.

If every account has 16 legends then there are 6,250,000 genuine accounts.

If apex tracker is tracking 12,569,221 players, then there are 6,319,221 Smurf and duplicates/triplicates/etc. 😃

In all honesty, I think you're one of the most negative people around here at this point. Great numbers that most studios can only dream of? Incredibly healthy user acquisition at very low costs and despite the fact that this game is targeted to a hardcore audience ? Let's slam them to the ground and drag them through the mud!

Giant (Lesie K)nope on this one. It is definitely not targeted towards hardcore audience xD. It might’ve started off as that... but along the way it turned into more of a casual setting with a hardcore audience staying...

Even patch notes paint a good picture when they were speaking of wanting players to take a scenic route for instance and taking away stuff only the hardest of cores did...

The game has a good and steep learning curve that keeps getting snowed in by the devs to the point that the slope is gradually turning into a level course.

@apostolateofDOOM As koochi said this is how many of these things go. The people that are into this type of game were probably there immediately. After the initial surge of a product it is always harder to grow from there.

If I was to turn my bleary eye to an opposing view, I could say one was a company man, purporting a company view, wheeled out to constantly undermine dissenting opinion, but I don't.
I read both opinions and try to learn. 😃 I've an inquiring mind, see, even at my age 🥳

@Koochi-Q I love the maps and am still in awe that this type of game is possible. I love exploring them. One of my favorite things to do is zooming in on the maps from above, while in the jump ship, lovely scenic view there 😃

@hayhor there's probably a lot of Fortnite kids that dl it as well to have a go, but find it to much of a change to cope with 🥳
