While i agree that Apex probably is slightly decreasing its playerbase, Fortnite's numbers will never be reached by any other BR because it's just too popular among kids and major streamers play it only to get easy money from them. Apex lacks of good updates and community feedback, i mean everyone keeps asking for big improvements in terms of servers and connection, but after a year and a half we still didn't see any of these, instead we saw the situation become worse and worse. A prime example of this is the last ALGS tournament. In one lobby the server crashed while in some others there was consistent lag. That's not how you present your game worldwide, and of course if this keeps going the few big streamers that play Apex eventually will stop, and we'll see even a bigger downfall. Or i could talk also about bugs not being fixed from season 5 launch(not even mentioned by devs). I really hope they'll realize that big changes to the game are needed because as it stands now a lot of people is more frustrated than happy to play it.
I'm a Season 1 player, over 1300 hours my LVL is in the 400s, and I'm hanging in there, but the cheating is out of hand, but I still love the game, I just take a different approach to it, to outsmart and kill the cheaters is all.
Bottom Line: Unless you work for EA, who's to tell honestly, what the reasons are for what we see? I can't imagine the juggling act a company like this must do, in order to produce a free game, the amount of time and development/developers needed, which takes away from the other projects, to keep the money in a business.
HEY PEOPLE: Cut EA some slack, the entire world with COVID-19 is in a mess, and it's not right of people to be so negative, this doesn't help anyone! They are people just like you and me, with friends, families, loves one like all of us, so really CUT THEM SOME SLACK! The Developers of EA, many are just employees like any company, so sitting talking trash, how do you think it might make them feel?
Anyhow...
Sit back and chill out people, and wait and see what comes next!

@xpl0itsI used to say the same thing. Here are a few things to consider:
1. It’s a free game but many players like myself pay actual money to support developers for things like battle pass, skins, events and so forth.
2. Many other games face the same issues of COVID-19, but they cope well and they are doing as usual now, also this 45-60 days update is nothing new in Apex, for a simple bug fix like “you unlocked a quest” you have to wait 6-8 weeks until the next patch.
3. Apex is not the only free game in the world, many was/is/will be free and I doubt they use this as an excuse for issues. They all try to improve to make a larger player community and eventually they will make enough money to cover everything.
4. Apex has the name of Respawn with 10 years background and also an very rich EA behind it, don’t assume they are like 4 or 5 simple developers in their hoodies working in a rental garage.- 6 years ago
@Alphabets
I know exactly what you are saying, and if EA is doing their absolute best, then the only good thought I can come up with is that their staff to manage the jobs, the pay checks to hand out, the profit margin, and keeping a company a float, and juggling everything, is what is standing in the way, meaning running a company...
SO, who's really to say, unless someone here is working for EA, to really give us the inside scope? Otherwise it's all just speculation, everyone is spewing...Here's the thing we have to remember, which doesn't help people for the present, is the Future, that EA, might be able to only do what it can at present, so it can continue developing games in the future, after all the so called rich company might not be hoarding it, but keeping it for the next project(s) needed...

I agree with all this. As much money and resources EA and Respawn have you would think content would come at a faster pace. That's just not the case with Apex. While I agree with the other poster we do not really know what goes on behind the scenes, it's just frustrating to see such a great game suffer from lack of support.
This game has seemed to suffer from the drop fed content updates since its release Covid-19 probably made that even slower sadly. When we do see events or updates they are pretty lack luster. Also how hard can it be to add new skins? The only time we seem to get any is during these limited events or when a new champ is released. I really want to continue supporting this game but if the pace of new content and bug fixes does not pick up I might just look elsewhere to spend my money and free time.

Here's another thing people are missing about KC in Season 5, has anyone actually payed attention to all the map changes? Because if they had, and they knew gaming development, 3D modeling, they'd realize that was a HELL of a lot of work that went into the changes, it was not like something was barely done.
If anyone doesn't believe what I am saying, then go get a copy of a modeling app like 3Ds Max;
And just try and model a working gun is all for a game, and see how much time and effort it takes, just for one so called small and simple model!
3D Modeling is serious work!
