I'm a Season 1 player, over 1300 hours my LVL is in the 400s, and I'm hanging in there, but the cheating is out of hand, but I still love the game, I just take a different approach to it, to outsmart and kill the cheaters is all.
Bottom Line: Unless you work for EA, who's to tell honestly, what the reasons are for what we see? I can't imagine the juggling act a company like this must do, in order to produce a free game, the amount of time and development/developers needed, which takes away from the other projects, to keep the money in a business.
HEY PEOPLE: Cut EA some slack, the entire world with COVID-19 is in a mess, and it's not right of people to be so negative, this doesn't help anyone! They are people just like you and me, with friends, families, loves one like all of us, so really CUT THEM SOME SLACK! The Developers of EA, many are just employees like any company, so sitting talking trash, how do you think it might make them feel?
Anyhow...
Sit back and chill out people, and wait and see what comes next!
PEACE
@xpl0itsI used to say the same thing. Here are a few things to consider:
1. It’s a free game but many players like myself pay actual money to support developers for things like battle pass, skins, events and so forth.
2. Many other games face the same issues of COVID-19, but they cope well and they are doing as usual now, also this 45-60 days update is nothing new in Apex, for a simple bug fix like “you unlocked a quest” you have to wait 6-8 weeks until the next patch.
3. Apex is not the only free game in the world, many was/is/will be free and I doubt they use this as an excuse for issues. They all try to improve to make a larger player community and eventually they will make enough money to cover everything.
4. Apex has the name of Respawn with 10 years background and also an very rich EA behind it, don’t assume they are like 4 or 5 simple developers in their hoodies working in a rental garage.

@Alphabets
I know exactly what you are saying, and if EA is doing their absolute best, then the only good thought I can come up with is that their staff to manage the jobs, the pay checks to hand out, the profit margin, and keeping a company a float, and juggling everything, is what is standing in the way, meaning running a company...
SO, who's really to say, unless someone here is working for EA, to really give us the inside scope? Otherwise it's all just speculation, everyone is spewing...Here's the thing we have to remember, which doesn't help people for the present, is the Future, that EA, might be able to only do what it can at present, so it can continue developing games in the future, after all the so called rich company might not be hoarding it, but keeping it for the next project(s) needed...

You can only look at the same dumpster fire for so long.

I agree with all this. As much money and resources EA and Respawn have you would think content would come at a faster pace. That's just not the case with Apex. While I agree with the other poster we do not really know what goes on behind the scenes, it's just frustrating to see such a great game suffer from lack of support.
This game has seemed to suffer from the drop fed content updates since its release Covid-19 probably made that even slower sadly. When we do see events or updates they are pretty lack luster. Also how hard can it be to add new skins? The only time we seem to get any is during these limited events or when a new champ is released. I really want to continue supporting this game but if the pace of new content and bug fixes does not pick up I might just look elsewhere to spend my money and free time.

Here's another thing people are missing about KC in Season 5, has anyone actually payed attention to all the map changes? Because if they had, and they knew gaming development, 3D modeling, they'd realize that was a HELL of a lot of work that went into the changes, it was not like something was barely done.
If anyone doesn't believe what I am saying, then go get a copy of a modeling app like 3Ds Max;
And just try and model a working gun is all for a game, and see how much time and effort it takes, just for one so called small and simple model!
3D Modeling is serious work!

@xpl0its dude I do 3D modeling as a hobby, no one is criticizing their modeling work, nor the skins they put out. I know exactly how hard it is to rig a human model for animation, how hard it is to texture said model, how hard it is to hand craft every element of everything you see in game. I know exactly how much effort they put into making their world look GOOD.
Yet their track record is STILL abysmal. Slow, inconsistent, unsteady, unstable updates (I MEAN SERIOUSLY look at how many bugs we still have that have persisted for season after season. Audio is still not working properly, every season it seems like the character selection bugs out and no ones banners nor animations load in properly, every time you exit a match that popup telling you you've unlocked a story quest will pop up, hit-reg has been woefully inconsistent for 5 seasons now and many more!) that have no prior form of communication to their community, not even addressing concerns that have been linked to them on Twitter, Reddit, or even here on the forums. When the Peacekeeper projectile size got increased, no one thought it was a good idea. The PK became the #1 weapon for an ENTIRE MONTH before they did what quite literally everyone was saying here on the forums, on Twitter, and on Reddit which was to revert said change.
Since you're a Season 1 player, surely you still remember the Iron Crown incident? Where the developers let slip that they didn't see their community as appreciating interest, but rather walking wallets? Not to mention they not only didn't refund anyone for their purchases nor gave out Apex Coins in recompense, but they also decided the best way to apologize was to let you buy the skins you wanted full price! Wow! What an apology, first they call us freeloaders (among other things) then they're so generous as to let you buy the skin you want for a whopping 18 dollars! Not EVEN mentioning the Bloodhound heirloom cost you an ADDITIONAL 35 DOLLARS.
Or what about canceling finishers? Did you know one of the earliest recorded forum posts linked here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Feedback/There-needs-to-be-a-way-to-cancel-Finisher-animations/td-p/7568279 was created on February 19th 2019? You know when they actually put that feature into the game? Here: https://apexlegends.gamepedia.com/December_03,_2019_Patch I'll do the math for you too, that's 287 DAYS before they implemented said feature.
We can also air out here my grievances about their little bandaid solutions to player retention: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Why-is-worlds-edge-on-such-a-short-timer/m-p/9170665#M89734
Let's not also forget how well made the skins for the Grand Soiree event were, while being huddled up next to rehashed, re-released events that were in the game already bringing nothing new to enjoy Apex other than a few silly easily implemented gimmicks.
Here's my point. After all the existing community has stuck around through, it is INSANE you believe that there is anything going on over at Respawn / EA other than blatant greed and mismanagement. It is absolutely pathetic that they spent so long neglecting the core game itself in favor of selling skins, and it's downright despicable that we've all sat here waiting patiently for even more QoL changes to be implemented and season after season nothing changes for the better.
Edit: Two things, just to harp on the, "It's pandemic time obviously everything going to be slowed down!" point, I just want to point out that they've had pandemic level communication with us for the entirety of this game's lifespan. Why is it that Deep Rock Galactic can push out 31 updates with constant updates both on the Steam Discussion page and with actual developer posts and feedback having a team of about 18 people, but Respawn with a team of hundreds of people give us 1 devstream every 3-6 months? In TWO YEARS Deep Rock Galactic has stomped out almost every single bug that's been brought to their attention by the community, fully released their game, AND are adding in even more content during the quarantine, and yet in the 1 year we've had Apex our game is still just as buggy as it was during launch. How can Warframe release their newest "Deadlock Protocol" quest during pandemic, but we can't get more consistent updates from Respawn? Halo: The Master Chief Collection recently announced Halo 3: ODST Firefight, but we can't get anything more than an update a month?
Secondly, just to prove I actually 3D Model, here's two screenshots of projects I had done and printed out. One is the Master Sword & Shield from LoZ, which took roughly 60 hours while using references, and the other is a Macuahuitl for a friend which took me around 40 hours.
