94 hours for 2 legends

So...I do get what you're saying. You have to log quite an amount of hours to unlock skins using the red (I forget what it is called) currency.
All I can tell you is yes, it takes a while. The question is if you like the game. If you do, you'll eventually get there. If you like it a lot and play many hours, you end up with too much of that currency. Anyone here who's played it for hundreds of hours will tell you eventually you unlock all the characters and have tons of that red, in-game currency to spare. I have like 130,000 of it and I have nothing else to spend it on.The gatekeeper currencies are the blue shards and the gold Apex coins. You only get those gold coins by at least spending money on a battle pass, levelling the pass, and then using those coins to renew your pass every season. The amount more of those coins you get for skins doesn't much matter unless you spend more real money. Of course, you can unlock nearly everything with those gold coins, and also, there's plenty of stuff you can only unlock with those gold coins (i.e. spending real money)
Blue crafting shards you can get with battle passes and leveling up to in game level 500 (where it will stop), mostly at random. You can unlock lots of things with those too, like skin recolors, usually, etc.
The game wants you to spend money on it. Most skins to me are overpriced, very overpriced. I don't really spend that much real money on the game at all. Good news is it is fun for me and I think, OP, you just have to decide if you want to keep playing it.
