Account linking versus created question for Cross Progression

I had to unlink my Playstation account from a previous EA account (knowing that I would lose everything, I didn't use it much before) and relink it to my current EA account. I did this on 10/27.

I'm wondering if that Playstation account will still be eligible to be merged with my Xbox/Steam account - since it is what I'm currently able to play on - since it was linked to the EA account after 10/26 (the cutoff date in the Cross Progression webpage).

  • Hi @Dadabetes,

    Yes, you'll still be able to use Cross Progression.

    That cutoff date just means no content/progress would be merged from the PlayStation account as it was linked after the 26th.

    In this case, you wouldn't have had the progress linked even before the 26th as it was unlinked from the EA account where the progress was first earned.

    You'll still be able to use this for Cross Progression once that's activated on your account.

  • So any battlepass progress or Apex Coins I've purchased between the 26th and now on that playstation account is lost and won't be moved with cross progression?

  • I had to do something similar as my PlayStation account was linked to an alternate ea account.Is your lobby bugged by any chance? I'm only able to play the day one legends and can't access the seasonal or shop tabs.

  • The post says "accounts created after Oct 26th", but the Playstation account wasn't created after the 26th, it was just linked to a different EA account after the 26th... so even with that being said, I'll still lose all progress and Apex coins that I purchased? Is it possible to get a refund on those purchases - since "accounts created after Oct 26th" isn't clear that it also means accounts linked to your EA account.

    @Dadabetes

    "Note: to prevent exploitation, any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after Oct 26th for the same EA account, will not be eligible to be merged."

    If your PlayStation (or any other account) was not linked to the EA account in question until after this date, it effectively didn't exist for that EA account.

    This EA account did not have a PlayStation account until after Oct 26th, so this would apply.

    Regarding a refund, you'll need to reach out to PlayStation Support if those purchases were done through PlayStation, as we don't have access to their billing systems or information.

  • I understand the bolded part - what I have an issue with though is "any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after Oct 26th for the same EA account, will not be eligible to be merged."

    The Playstation account was not created after the 26th - it was just linked to the EA account after the 26th. My understanding was that it would be eligible to merge with my Xbox account, so I got to level 110 on the most recent battle pass, had ~50 Apex packs, and $40 worth of coins... Is that really just going to be gone when my accounts are merged?

    Playstation won't offer a refund even though the coins I purchased will just disappear when my accounts are merged.
