Actions that matters towards Positive Play

Since Positive Play was announced and we see some pointless actions doing by an Auto-mod I just wanted to name some real actions not just some false gestures.

1. Increasing the Quality of servers: you know what triggers online players the most? LAG SPIKES

2. Increasing Server Locations: Why We still don't have a single Eastern EU server? or we could talk about India n S.Africa servers. It could help with their culture n language and also Lower pings for them, and probably less Outage from other servers.

3. Optimizing the Game: Another thing that triggers players a lot is a Stuttering game and it has been a thing in Apex since the beginning, There have been attempts and fixes and improvements but we need more and more.

4. Audio issues and overall Bugs: Getting killed by silent Pathfinder, Octane/Rev is tilting, dropping and E not picking the loot and getting clapped after that is tilting. Few examples. Remember Woosh Wooooooooooooooosh during Mad Maggie's games? yeah

5. Matchmaking: When you are supposed to get players that should be equally close to you and you are not getting them matches after matches, that builds up negativity that leads to toxicity.

6. Dealing with some of the Streamers instead of giving them more and more Platform: When they kill a player: Get * on Kid, when they get killed: F you cheating kid, get a life n stuff. Making Alts to make contents without any consequences. Constantly whining towards community or bashing players with lower skill that don't play this game for living. Now Problem with these individual is that they have a wanna-be community that are bringing that toxicity n negativity to the game on a larger scale.

7. Recording the communication each match: There are times players on COM say some very triggering stuff and when you get tilted and type a reply, that could get you in trouble and the other player just walks out safe. And after sometime if they were no reports from that Squad, the file could be deleted automatically.

I am not saying, there has not been any positive actions from Respawn n EA, but some recent gestures were just pointless and actually could lead a dull community.

If you like this could share it around community for more attention for these actions to be taken, BYE.

PS: I don't care that much lol

  • @WreckingVi I disagree on the importance of protecting anatomical and sexual references in a video game rated for teens.

But I agree on all of the numbered points here. Recording chat to punish ppl spewing racist/toxic comments should honestly have come before banning for club names.

Agree on the matchmaking putting high/low players together as well, which is generally a negative experience for everyone involved (nothing fun about being slaughtered by preds, match clutched by 1 pred, and said pred then procedes to curse us out for getting melted in arenas by the McDonalds Ultimate Pro Circuit Apex Legends Sweat Team with matching uniforms).
  • @WreckingVi Ah, well, let me ruin your post, since you don't care that much 🙂.

    1. Network quality isn't something that a game studio can fix. You will see improvements when the internet evolves as we all get access to things like Starlink and end to end fiber optics.

    2. Data centers belong to the big cloud providers. There are way more important things than gaming that do require better infrastructure in a lot of places, but that doesn't mean it can be solved easily, no matter how many billions are thrown in the mix. Anyway, the moment they can get access to new datacenters, they will, because there's a lot to be gain on new markets.

    3. A lot of game issues are caused by the network, the attacks, the hackers, the cheaters, but we also lose performance to the point of having issues because of all the systems added to protect the game against all these problems.

    4. Audio yes, it's an issue, they are working on their engine though, which is almost rocket science. Considering all the constraints, limitations and new content putting constant pressure, it may take a lot more time to make it work as well as we expect it. As for other bugs, a ton of them are caused by issues mentioned in the points above.

    5. For the matchmaking to work "properly", the game would require millions of concurrent players. But anyway, players would still complain because everyone wants K/D and win rate that are way above the perfect averages.

    6. Streaming platforms and social networks are the ones who should deal with toxic streamers and content creators, not the game studios.

    7. Recording someone without consent is illegal and I don't think there are many that would agree to being recorded by a game. And even if this would be legal and implemented, it would only open a can of worms, resulting in more frustration overall. A lot more undeserved penalties would happen, while devs would have a lot more work to weed out endless lists of reports.
  • @DoYaSeeMe#7 isn't illegal when it's included in the terms of the game. Choosing to use in-game chat doesn't imply not being recorded. In fact, people have no reasonable expectation of privacy when using public chat in any forum, including Zoom, etc.

"It would open a can of worms..." What does that even mean?

"Undeserved penalties..." Sorry, screaming at someone, cursing them out and calling them the N-word isn't an undeserved penalty.

Edit: Found the respective User Agreement terms and Privacy Policy terms that everyone playing Apex already agreed to:

    "5. Your UGC (User-Generated Content)

  •  I agree with your comments WreckingVi & whilst DoYaSeeMee seems to be defending the indefensible at times with their comments that seems to absolve Respawn of any of the blame for the issues in the game that you mentioned. And whilst Respawn aren't exactly responsible for the servers & data centers the game operates from in fact EA don't own them either. They are in fact owned by a company called Multiplay who signed a 6 year lease deal with EA in which the servers have been used for Titanfall,COD & Apex games.According to various reports the 6 year lease deal with Multiplay is supposed to end sometime in August 2021 (this month) & if true does EA sign a new leasing contract with Multiplay knowing how problematic the server issues have been over the past few seasons or do EA provide their own servers for Respawn to operate on or sign a lease contract with another company,I guess time will tell.Respawn however are responsible for the patches for new events etc which are consistantly  laden with  bugs & various & various performance issues.Respawn are also responsible for play testing their games & patches to recognize & iron out the faults/issues.Frighteningly though whatever testing mechanism they have clearly doesn't work & if I'm honest judging by tweets written by various devs & how late they respond or how oblivious they are to issues that have affected the game for weeks I very much doubt they even play their own games. The devs only tend to respond on gaming issues when Pro Players,Youtubers & both media & social media complain.

    WreckingVi I would like to add some additional points to yours & they are;;

1)More fairly balanced loot/weapon layout across the map. There is nothing more infuriating in game like Apex particularly when one lands in a Hot Drop & either cannot find a weapon no matter how many buildings or chests we look in & if we are lucky we may just stumble across a P2020 or a Mozambique. This happens to me more often than not certainly when a Pred team approach you armed with Spitfires,Havocs,R99's etc. It's situations like that that convince me us mere mortal players are treated like nothing more than cannon fodder to these Pred teams. Also another thing that infuriates me is the annoyance in opening a chest trying to find a weapon,a scope or ammo only to find either 3 shotgun bolts or 3 level 1 backpacks or even 3 thermite grenades.what is all that about!.

2)Having Level 1 scopes pre-fitted to all weapons.Okay there are a few weapons that have a small scope of sorts like the Flatline or the Volt when looking down Iron Sights but there are other weapons like the G7 -Scout,Devotion etc Iron Sights is nothing more than blind shooting on instinct.I'd ideally like to see a Level 1 scopes fitted to all weapons & by all means keep all other scopes available for discovery in the game.

3)A proper Report system in the game.Whatever the Reporting system is in the game clearly doesn't seem to work.As primarily a PS5 player who experienced more & more cheating in the game Reporting these cheaters/hackers maybe simple if they are an XBOX,Switch or PC player but when reporting a fellow PS player I am expected to go through the whole  rigmarole of going through Playstations own report system which quite frankly is a complete ball-ache & not worth the hassle.

4)Remove all non-white armour/shields until at least mid-game.I've encountered on numerous occasions not just players but all teams fitted with Gold Armour at the beginning of a game. I'm not sure (but I susoect) if there is a cheat or hack where players literally can start the game with a pre-fitted Gold Armour but also a Gold Shield (in case they get dropped) but encountering these players/teams literally at the start of a game removes the fairness in the game. The progressive Armour system the game currently uses (where the more damage you inflict on the enemy the better your shield becomes) is the most fairest way the game can be played & would be a disincentive for these teams that like to hide for the majority of the game.

5)Fairer Matchmaking system-The whole problem around SBMM is always a contentious issue no matter what the game & whatever the alga-rhythm or mechanisms devs use as a measurement to determine a fair game but it has been clear for a few seasons now whatever mechanism Respawn uses it clearly hasn't been working. As a level 400 player with just over 2000 kills with my main character I find myself mainly playing against opponents with over 20,000 kills a piece. And with the increasing appearance of Smurf players match-making can be tricky. One resolution to making the game a bit fairer would be to create two separate tiers to each mode. There would be one tier/game mode for solo players to team up in Trios/Duos & another Tier/Game Mode for Teams. That way Pred teams are free to play their own mode & solo players like myself can play another.

6)Next-Gen Uprades for PS5 & Xbox X/S.Most if not all other cross-play multiplayer games already have it but no mention or sign of it happening on the PS5/Xbox X/S.Why?.

Apologies for the ling winded comment.
