I love it. Great mode and the ring speed was fine if a bit fast as it made me feel the pressure constantly, but I loved a long run and gather if we jumped some distance from the final ring. There was also more of a sense of freedom to drop a bit away from the squad if I wanted and catch up later on.
I got the feeling that squads were more spred out looking for loot for the finale. The funneling was fantastic and the insanest final ring played today had 9 squads in it, needless to say I was an observer at that point, but thanks in no small part to my taking one for the team.... We won😃 There is a very interesting winning tactic to be utilized in the final circle😉
The only issue was that if I dropped north of sky hook and the final circle was on the dome, as soon as the circle started decreasing, the edge of the circle immediately jumped to lava fissure and I got fried as the damage given was as if i had stayed where i was while the circle moved from sky hook to lava fissure. Needless to say I only got scorched in this way once, maby it was a deliberate part of the mode, you can creep but not that far lol.

@ColdHoursNot a bad idea. I like it as is...everything is in place but you have less time...looting, fighting, Respawning, Positioning, escaping circle, etc... so it testes how talented you are...the quick and the dead!
Honestly, don't have any criticisms of this game mode. The ring speed feels fine and I like how it decreases the duration of each match. There is more action and less sitting around waiting for a fight which is really nice. It is a little more chaotic, but it feels balanced.
The only frustrating thing that happened was I landed far from final ring location on drop (my bad) going for the train and after 10 seconds from landing the ring spawned on top of me and didn't give me any chance to run out of it as it killed me in 3 ticks. But I quickly learned from that mistake.
- DarthValtrex6 years agoHero (Retired)@IAmTheMeddler I did the same, but we survived and made top 3. Final 2 teams were camped in buildings and we got picked off as we approached ring.
Love this mode, I'd also be perfectly fine if this is default ring for other playlist. All in all it sets the match to a good pace for every type of players, especially team based play, put them shortcomings under magnifier, people learn from mistakes quick while before they may get by either being good or lucky. I've seen high K/D streamers having a bad time because they need their teammates more than ever.
1. Loot goblins should learn their lesson you don't need to clean every house and crate to be battle ready.
2. Lone wolves who drop alone and wandering far off team perimeter are guaranteed a bad game at any stage, so much worse than other playlist after a few matches everyone learned to stay close to each other.
3. Knowing when to disengage from a lose-lose sticky fight, some players have the mentality of having to down and kill every opponent they see, the map will clean them up.
4. Early campers are forced to go out and test the water, both offense and defense teams at choke points can not camp for long. Even if campers hold their ground and downed pushing squad, often there is no time to loot leaving them at great disadvantage for rest of the game.
5. Sweaty apes at before final circle more likely to lose, at that stage the pace actually changed to scrim like approach.
I was honestly not expecting this mode to be my favourite out of the lot so far but here we are!
There is just so much action throughout these games and the final circles are absolute mayhem! Super Fun!
This one's very intense. It's fun until the final ring, when it becomes too chaotic. For me at least, winning is mostly a matter of luck at this point, as it's very difficult to try building any strategy with random teammates, especially when there's such a high pressure. Made it to top 2 a couple of times but then lost the crawling competition 🙂
Also, with so many players raining nades, bullets and abilities, the servers seem to get affected. They become sluggish, throwing many prediction errors, sometimes even shutting down with internal errors. I've had grenade and Gibby ult failures (heard voice confirmation, seen animation and initiation sound, but nothing else except me getting downed in the rain of bullets after a few seconds. I'm wondering if lag exploiters have an advantage in this mode...

Every time you give it a go, you're disappointed and come back here to spew negativity, starting to sound like a broken record broskie! - Gabrielmojo266 years agoSeasoned Ace
By far my favorite game mode to date, love everything about it!
Thankfully my teammates weren’t in a party chat, and we were able to bounce off each other’s ideas for the final ring.
We looted fast, squad wiped along the way, keeping a close eye on the final circle, and figuring out the best route so we don’t get pinched.
Last circle was chaos, but communication was at it’s best, ults were kept for said final circle, and for once we made good use of ult accelerants lol
This game mode pushes you to communicate with your team, to share loot, and to plan ahead of time, it’s what Apex should be.
P.S. ring speed is perfect, otherwise you’d be head deep into those deathboxes for what is an extended, useless amount of time.
Edit* Champions on the first game played, accumulated enough arcade points for all three Path trackers, I'm a happy camper! Pun intended!
