Any way to complete the mantle boost challenge in one day?

I waited until the last minute to do the Amped challenges and I've done them all except the mantle boost challenge.  I was able to get the circle to turn blue once, but I'm having horrible rng on getting it to happen.  (Is it by chance that it turns blue???)

I think this is the most useless mechanic they've added to the game so far since it really does nothing.  The small boost it gives you in speed is dwarfed by legends like Ash, Sparrow, Loba, Octane, Revenant, etc who can automatically go much faster than that with their regular skills, especially when mantle jumping.  Also, when you are taking a difficult fight that you need to use movement tech in to get out of getting shot the last thing you are going to worry about doing is playing a slot machine game with a circle on your screen with lines hugging it on the off chance it will turn blue.  There are so many more efficient ways to use movement, such as MnK and gyro can tap strafe and controller players can just do a standard mantle jump, fatigue wall jump, etc.  I see no application of this whatsoever in the game since what it does is done much better and more reliably by other mechanics.  (I'll get off my soapbox now, lol)

Anyway, anyone able to increase the chance of it turning blue?  Some players have told me it happens more often with a gun equipped, but I don't think it does.  The only thing the directions say that I've found online is press the button when the circle appears, but it is always red for me except one time.  So, you guys think its possible to get it done in the next 17 hours.  I'll probably solo drop into pubs and play edge a few times to see if I can figure out a way to do it enough to get the challenge, but any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

AymCTL You should still be able to finish this today as the challenge is simple, (but tricky), to complete.

When it turns blue, it means that you had successfully preformed a mantel jump, and when it turns red, it means that you were unsuccessful, (while if it stays white, that just means you had missed your chance to mantel jump).

Having a gun equipped shouldn't impact how the mantel jump is preformed, however to increase your odds of mantel jumping, you would want to preform the mantel jump towards the end of the climb when the brackets gets close to the circle.

I think you are really overthinking it. The challenge is really easy and can be done in 1-2 minutes. You need to get used to this mechanic and shouldn't even look at the circle - at some point you will just do it naturally. IMO everything that gives you a speed boost is in plus, so I don't see a point of complaining even on such small additions. If you don't plan to use it, just hide the indicator in options to not distract you.

Thanks Midnight, I was able to do it much easier with your explanation. I timed it when the brackets got almost at the circle and was able to do it.  While I can't do it consistently yet, I could see this potentially helping if you could nail it every time.  Maybe this is something they are piloting right now that they will develop more in future seasons.  There's other skills I'd like to see with a similar mechanic to this like maybe a form of tap strafing or ghost strafing.

Zibo, you're right, I think I was overthinking it and some of the explanations on the net do so too.  I do think this is something that will be ironed out and maybe developed more in later seasons, but yeah, any additional speed is a plus.  I just can't see too many players remembering to do it when they are under the stress of a real tough battle, especially in higher levels of ranked or the real tough mixtape matches.  Of course, it sounds like mixtape and pubs may be the best place to practice this other than Bot Royale on very hard mode.

    AymCTL Awesome!

    No worries!

I'm not very good with it either.
