On top of that there are hotspots which at least I personally see always being targeted by the best players or at least best pushers/shooters in the lobby, they have 0 doubt in their mind most of the time regarding where they will drop - straigh to hotdrop.
So that instant decision making to be first to land, good/better mechanics gives players advantage of better loot straight out of the gate.
What you can do to counter that?
1. drop better, faster
2. choose other more safe location yet with say 2nd best loot on the map
3. develop tactics vs players with better loot - focus fire, 3rd party, ult combos or just purely avoiding them
E.g. people do fear others with higher tier armors but usually the difference is just 2 tier = 25 damage = 1-2 bullets. If you fire first thanks to positional advantage and have somewhat competitive weapon - don't go into a fight with scopeless P2020 vs tricked out 301 - actually that advantage is still insignificant in my opinion same as tricked out guns in wrong hands = cases where you see better players still winning P2020 vs 301 fights or alike.
You can wax lyrical about firing first when in a positional advantage but when your competing against teams with Bloodhound's & Seers who'll track you in a heartbeat & the constant 3rd partying any advantage can go out the window. And with Octane's leap pad landing exploits, tap strafing,Tap jumping, audio issues,Stryker packs (& other exploits) that give players aiming & zero recoil exploits etc that will stack the odds against you.
- Eshshshss4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Redmattgame honestly I choose based on situations when these stupid drops happen. If I see e.g. my squad going into a place with 3+ teams especially with higher rank dive trails (recent ones) I tend to split and drop solo, then try to pick them up (because they die 99.999% of a time of course). It just makes total sense to me that me surviving via normal drop is still better than a suicide mission especially with people who think they are rembo but in reality they are like Homer Simpson :P
As for the Predators and not even them, just sneaking players - yes they tend to drop late, change their drops etc. But that's just a game tactics, any good as any other.
If they drop late = you will 100% of a time land faster, if you land faster, you should get to the best spots and land on any weapon as even P2020 is still better than punching people. So it is all about timing, comms, knowing the maps and places.
If you drop and go for the bins which as you said can be as random as 3 bags... that is your f-up in my opinion and instead of going for bins you had to choose a place that has items dropped on the floor = more likely to be not bags :D
Worst case, coordinated drop so that it is a fair boxing match or even better you land on top of 1-2 enemies and have a man advantage.
p.s. not using microphone (I guess that's what you mean by "headphones") is a big disadvantage as well. I use it every game even when I am not trying.- 4 years ago

I'm enjoying the game tremendously. I'm making big improvements and the game is not suffering from issues affecting me very much, outside of the several days following launch and the last patch. My biggest issues in previous seasons were matchmaking and team fill. While neither has been perfect by any means, both have been much better for me overall.
