Apex: a guide to etequette

Just to expand on number 8:

-Tone is important. I'll frequently get teammates who have mics but don't use them, and their first use of the mic is to be angry, aggressive, passive aggressive, depressive, etc. etc, even when asking for something. I'll often get teammates who need something, and using their mic they'll go, "Gee! Wish I had X." and then that's it. Or if they want me to slow down and wait for them, they'll go, "Hey can you slow the f*** down?". At that point, I'm under no obligation to help you out or slow down, because you couldn't even be bothered to have common courtesy when you needed something. You get back what you put out, and if you're angry or passive aggressive upon first talking to complete strangers, what makes you think they're obligated to be nice to you, when you couldn't even do the same? 

-You need something? Be explicit with quantity. Coordinated teams always share with each other, but they often first ask how much of X that the other needs. No one wants to be caught with their pants down needing something and not having it. On top of this, for the most part you're playing with strangers who don't communicate, so being explicit with what you need and what you have gives you a better chance of getting more of what you need. I have no mic, but typing in chat with what I have vs. what I need always gets me some more of what I'm asking for. After all it's the same situation no matter who you play with when someone asks for something. That question of, "Do they NEED need more of X? Or do they have some but want more?" 

-You've got a mic, don't use it, and then when you die you start complaining about the situation and or your teammates? Simple solution, voice your opinion using the mic you bought. You've got 0 right to complain about anything if you've got the means to say, "Hey I think this situation isn't looking so hot, let's dip out." or, "This isn't going well, I don't have anything, let's book it." and then you just, don't. Use your mic constructively, or keep your mouth shut. No one wants to hear you complaining when you couldn't even be bothered to try and help yourself and your team to victory through callouts.

-Speaking of callouts, CALLOUT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. There's no worse feeling than losing because your teammate who has a mic ran off to heal but just didn't bother to tell anyone leaving you to fight however many people are left. If you're healing, call out you're healing. If you're looting in combat, call out that you're looting in combat. If you want to push an enemy, or you don't want to, CALL OUT THAT YOU DO OR DON'T WANT TO GO. Frequently, I've been up and ditched by teammates who have mics but just never use them who run away from fights while I push them, who then watch me die and speak into the mic, "Why'd you go I didn't have anything / I didn't want to fight that / I was worried about ring / etc. etc. etc." How was I supposed to know? I can't read your mind, and any other player you queue with most likely can't either. Talk into the mic, let people know what's up what you're thinking what you're doing, etc. etc. 

I'm no shining paragon of non-toxicity, but I've gotten way too many teammates who don't use their mic for ANYTHING except to complain. If you have a mic, use it to help your team, not be a whiny little pissant looking for an excuse to complain.
