Apex@NintendoSwitch PC-Mode+GyroConfig

This is a continuation of:

https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Using-Mouse-Keyboard-on-Nintendo-Switch/m-p/10283785/highlight/true#M153079

1) There should be an advanced gameplay option to put Apex for Switch into PC mode. PC mode should:

1a) change the max aim assist to the strength PC is limited to (40%?) when in joystick look;

1b) allow mouse device detection, aiming and settings options just like PC Source games;

1c) consider the NS a PC and put it in PC lobbies.

2) Apex for NS gyro aim is fundementally broken because the settings do not allow changing which joycon gyro axis does what. This should be 100% configurable.

For a true VR like gyro aiming experience with only two joycons, the best solution I could think of was separating the joycons and moving the look-turn gyro axis from the R-Joycon to L-Joycon. Locking them on the same joycon causes problems that I would need to draw and use fancy 3D visual math to explain properly.

Please make this configurable. Also, it could be helpful to allow the first player to use up to four joycons or two joycons plus procontroller at a time for body and headtracking rigs. Some for hand controls, others for gyro look-pitch and look-turn.

PS: I wouldn't even be thinking about this if the following bug were fixed:

    I have to say as a Nintendo switch player myself, there is nothing at all broken about playing on Nintendo Switch, even though the gyroscope cuts the recoil down similar to using a mouse on a PC.

    To my knowledge Nintendo Switch has the aim assist off because of the gyro controller.  I watched a YouTube video that shows how to turn aim assist on or off and it isn't present on switch, only ps or Xbox, so since you don't have to deal with as much recoil on switch I don't believe it has aim assist.

    That said, compared to the other versions of the game (my brother plays on ps5) our version has bad graphics, bad field of view, some enemies or scenic features do not render at all, and you almost always get downed by an invisible enemy this season because it didn't render and you didn't see it there.  I've had clubbers ask me why I didn't fire when I had a clear shot and I told them I didn't see the enemy.

    That said, it's still worth playing since you don't always have issues, but you are at an extreme handicap when playing on switch, and the gyroscope making play a little easier makes the game at least still playable since you can manage recoil better.  Playing on switch Lite makes the handicap even worse.  If it weren't for the good gyro aim on switch and if I still had to use the stick for aim and recoil like when I first started I'd have probably Uninstalled the game by now.

    I also believe they nerfed switch for season 19 for this very reason by lowering health since I die within 3 shots even with gold armor this season.  (I got 5 kill games last season and this season its rare to get any kills)  However, if they handicap switch players further by tampering with the gyro I know I couldn't play any more.

    @mkthunderwd Oh, and by the way, in mixtape switch players (I have 10 of them in my club) stand no chance at all against PC players, if they did what you suggest they would all quit. Switch is way too slow processing wise for them to compete against each other. Switch renders at 12 to 20 fps is what I was told.
  • Read it again.

    What I suggested is a new setting that is off by default. There would be a big warning when enabling it.

    My suggestion is to Respawn and Panic Button only, not other players. Only the game dev can empower the player with more choice when it comes to their cross progression stats. Even if I knew how to make it work, I would probably be banned for using a mouse on Switch.

    Xbox and Playstation players have a similar enough frame rate advantage yet they are in Switch lobbies.

    I've played in PC lobbies since Apex week one. If I choose to be in PC lobbies on Switch in order use mouse and get obliterated, that's on me. Same goes for them if they choose to enable PC mode.

  • @AymCTL I didn't see the first reply before the last post on mobile. Thanks for your attention and input.
