Are apex devs trying to remove all skill gaps in the game?

why on earth would you remove skill based movement mechanics that no one above gold has a problem with in the game.
slowly and slowly the devs have been trying to remove micro skill gaps its like they want the game to be in a shape that doesn't reward you for learning mechanics anymore and just gives you everything the second you log in.
I've never seen devs so out of touch with what makes their product unique or even worth playing.
The new mantle jump feels as stiff as something you would find in farlight 84, what  a weird crazy change that no one who actually plays the games has been asking for.
Keep diluting your game down and people will no longer see the point of putting the time in anymore.

  • By the sounds of the post I would assume you are quite new in the game.

From more experienced player development was something like this:

    • around season 7/8/9 noone really was much into "movement"
    • after superglide "bug" was discovered many didn't know / were not able to reproduce it in game because it was FPS related as well as timing dependant
    • around that time Respawn also introduced super jump via zipline
    • most people created macro commands (automatic scripts) to lower their FPS to like 30 for instant moment followed by needed input to create superglides
    • same applied to ziplines (your Faide and copycats of him)
    • later people started to abused Horizon + infinite scroll wheels to have basically endless bunny hop
    • finally Steam input come around and people on controllers started to abuse crazy fast side to side bunny hops, Octane jumppad direction changes (doing 180 full speed arc jumps and what not)

Basically a) noone really relied much on movement in real game scenarios b) ones who did just hard abused it via macro or Steam to create those unhittable / hitreg jumping Octanes that remained perfectly accurate (thanks to hacks) while jumping.

Current fix of easily accessible superglide is the best they could do. You still need to input and timing just now it is 100% clear how to do that and is possible to be done on any system. To perform it for your advantage during gunfight still requires your brain and hand-eye coordination.

Finally it does not matter as these days in ranked at least 75-90% of games have hackers in them - you can move all you want, wallhack and aimbot will still get you.
