Are outside configurations allowed in Apex Legends?

I cannot find anywhere if Apex Legends allows configurations that are not part of the game's settings.  I have run into certain players who can do multiple movements, usually side to side, while mid air from a regular jump.  No wall jumps, no jump pads, just literally jumping straight up and then zig zagging before landing again while also being able to lock onto their opponents.  To my knowledge, there is no known ability even for Octane to be able to do this without pressing a single button and getting multiple movements aka configurations.  3rd party devices which are essentially configurations for controllers are banned as cheats, but computer players have the ability to write configs creating an unfair advantage when playing against them.  They also use configurations to grab things quickly from death boxes which again doesn't make sense.  So, officially, do you allow configurations files to be used while playing Apex Legends?  If not, then what is the plan to stop them?  If so, then why are 3rd party equipment which act as configs for controller players banned?  The playing field is not level and needs clarification.  Thank you for your time.

Anything that gives an unfair advantage can lead to a ban.

The best route is to report cheaters ingame if possible.

If you miss the ingame chance, then follow this link and go to the bottom of the page.

    https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/report-players-for-cheating-abuse-and-harassment/

    Where it says:

"If in-game reporting isn’t available follow the below steps."

There is a report webform there:

    https://help.ea.com/en/report-a-player/

Im guessing that this is the start of a conversation, where any proof you have can then be submitted.

This is recent info on anti cheat and ban numbers:

I really appreciate the answer, but have they ever specifically said that configurations were cheating?  I am trying to better understand the amount of ridiculous movement by certain characters like Octane and Horizon who have movement that has multiple moves in completely opposite directions from a regular jump.  The only thing that makes sense to me is config files being run.  I report them and have reported outside the game through the site, but as frequently as I see it and certain FB posts saying it isn't prohibited makes me wonder.

A good rule of thumb is to stick to ingame settings, anything else can attract a ban and EA do not release a list. Also in their terms term of service you agree not to adjusting content etc.

This thread with an official answer may help you:

Generally it's not a good idea to automate movement, the general guideline is that one player input should never equate to more than one game input, and in general it's best to protect your account by staying away from that stuff.

For performance config, it's usually best to stick to the in-game options where available. General tweaks to improve performance should be fine, but if hypothetically there were a way to give an advantage (improving visibility by removing intentionally obscuring effects for example) this would not be allowed.

    Play by the rules.

We want the Apex Legends play experience to be fair and fun for everyone. Cheating is against our rules.

Cheating can include, but isn’t limited to, using third-party software like aimbots, wallhacks, and other similar cheats to gain an unfair advantage over other players.

So...all aim assist players should be banned? Right...got it .

Also, MACROS constitute cheating, and  they are being widely used. The 1st point here demonstrates that which would fall under the classification of cheating the game engine config parameters.

    • Binding a series of buttons to a single key to execute a complex action sequence
    • Automating repetitive actions, such as reloading or switching weapons
    • Enabling players to perform actions that would be difficult or impossible to perform with manual input
