I just think it's silly to create a whole new mode when the current one is still suffering for many players. They only did this to appeal to a very small percentage of people crying about solo queuing with "terrible randoms" blah blah blah. It just doesn't make sense to introduce an entirely new set of problems. Why get behind on fixing stuff if you're already behind on fixing stuff?
I didn't think it would work but it does. It's kinda ok. Change of pace etc but it does not feel like Apex. It's just another FFA game, which you could play on any other game tbh.
Yes it works, and it is kind fun, but I find it a touch boring and winning isn't any kind of thrill. It's usually 4 or 5 people in a tiny ring waiting for the others to fight. This is how it was always going to be.
Not as exciting. Winning isn't as fulfilling but it's good to jump in for a few games only having to rely on yourself. It's just.... OK.
To anybody moaning about players not fighting/running away. Why would you risk fighting and attracting others to your location? Your best tactic is to wait for others to start then pick them off. This isn't cheap (insert derogatory comment here) it's common sense and logical.
And there's still utter clownshoes playing solo in squads, so it doesn't seem to have taken the "heros" completely out of squad playlist.
I'm not fussed either way, but it's just another FFA mode. Nothing special. Why the players who wanted this couldn't just get it from another game I don't know. There is nothing "Apex" about the solo mode really.
it wasn't bad at first. still prefer teamplay. But Today SOLO play is a dumpster fire. The sheer amount of map hackers i'm seeing is atrocious. about half of those map hackers have no recoil as well. They are usually the aggressive ones.

I play solo in most games so I'm right at home here, it's just a pain when players begin teaming up or your usual hackerman decides to rain on your parade
@DarkphoenixRise I played solos all night tonight and one thing I do like is using it for challenges. You can suicide drop for quick kills and damage for challenges without ruining your teams game. I was just hot dropping at the ring of fire for challenges tonight without wanting, or even trying for the win.
It serves a purpose but not as rewarding as a good squad game imo. If it stays I'll continue to play it if I'm in the mood.

Why? Nobody is forcing you to play solo's why would you want to take away the game mode i enjoy?
What exactly did you lose from solo's being added?
I lost their focus on the core game, too busy adding modes etc to fix day 1 problems. Now theres 3 game modes, one that is not anywhere near what the game was designed around. They said from day one no solo etc. They tried it to appease people but at the end of the day, the game is designed around being a team game, with the legends working together... just because half of you cant make friends doesn't mean they should make another mode, and have to put resources into it...
I doubt this solo mode took so much to put together that the entire staff has been occupied with this for weeks.
Remove respawn stations, remove non legendary knockdown shields from loot table, and shorter round timers. That's it.
I guarantee more hours were spent on making Octane's Gauntlet map change, and most of their work is probably spent on upcoming release of Crypto and Loba, and Ranked mode.
Again, no changes were made to squad games whatsoever, so what did you lose?

I am not a fan, tried it for a few days, and there’s nothing more frustrating than having a good streak end by some scared player camping a ledge, croutched, with a longbow just waiting to shoot you in the back.
Doesn’t feel right, dynamics are off, too many wide open spaces on the map to make it effectively a solo oriented game.
Not to mention, the 3rd, 4th and 5th partying from a distance with a sniper riffle, don’t mind it when playing teams as you somewhat have a chance, but it’s especially frustrating when playing solo cause you’re basically done.
I had money to burn yesterday, guess where i burned it, Fortnite.
- I like it alot, it’s taken away my ‘oh snap what are my teammate doing’ attention and actually let me focus on playing so doing quite well when it’s going well. But that’s not always the case for me tho.
Next up, duos! I think solo mode should stay, but... matchmaking system should separate players based on their skill.
Low skill players should never play with high skill players. Only then this game mode will be interesting to noobs (majority of Apex player base).
