Arena Cheater
cheater are common i know i know but arena mode is especially hard to catch one because we don't have a final kill cam or what ever tool we need to see the gameplay from their perspective. i hope res...
@LordloshBang I agree that some of these methods will reduce cheater numbers initially, but its just slapping a band aid on the issue so to speak.
To elaborate on the whole taking legal action element of the discussion. Let's say the major developers in the industry do unite and go on a witch hunt for cheat sellers, they'll likely be successful and that will without a doubt drop the numbers for a while. It then however creates a gap in the market, because people will still want to cheat....so inevitably that gap will be filled. Which means the process has to start all over again.
Honestly comparing it to the drug industry would be a pretty accurate analogy.
Authentication would be a similar issue, it would slow the flow of cheaters initially, until people start googling how to bypass these systems, and we would be back to square one.
As for IP/HWID bans, these are actually already in play.
I'm not just trying to shoot you down here to clarify, I wish it really was a simple feat to solve the problem at hand...there's just a helluva lot of complexity to the problem. x.x
If think you've definitely got the right idea with making casual cheaters the main focus though, although it would have to be a constant battle.
Remember when Epic sued some kid for advertising/selling Fortnite cheats on YT. Epic got so much smack for it, people were saying how "big bad Epic ruined some poor childs life because of a video game" People were literally defending the hell out of that kid making Epic look like the evilest company in the world. No way EA would go the same route, especially with their already messed-up reputation...
However, from a technical standpoint, there are tons of things they could do but they won't because this goose is laying golden eggs as it is. And really it's only around top 10% of the player base that is suffering from hackers the other 90% don't even see it as a big deal.
