I'm on a roof, this guy sprints through the entire building, goes through a Wattson fence, climbs a wall, pulls out a gun and shoots me dead. How much audio actually registered out of all of that? None, no audio what so ever. His teammate that was a 100ft away though? Could hear everything little thing he did. You have to be doing this on purpose, no game can have audio this bad with it being on purpose. AND IT STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED, gonna wait till the games dead huh?Edit: I really want everyone know how bad it was. I was at Geyser, standing on one of roofs with the glass ceilings, on the slope of the roof directly above the door. He ran from the other side of the building, through the fence that was inside the door directly below me, less than 3 feet away, climbed the building, and no audio was registered whatsoever.I'm able to hear his teammate on the opposite side of the building, running, walking, healing, switching weapons/grenades, but not the guy less than 3 feet away from me doing all this stuff? The audio needs to be fixed.

@OldTreeCreeper I've experienced a funny one in Winter Express recently. A teammate Caustic was ziplining to the new station and he kept jumping to avoid eventual sniper shots. I pinged the enemies and he jumped down but, as he ran towards my position, it sounded like he's actually ziplining to me. Luckily, the enemies didn't hear that and the sound did stop after a few seconds.

@Wingmannedbro as I've very poor hearing in one ear and not great in the other, directional sounds are very difficult to pinpoint, esp footsteps, which can be a problem in apex in some circumstances. I can't wear headphones as that damages things further, upping the volume of the tinnitus.Fortnite has a circular sound onscreen display which includes footsteps. I find this very handy as I'm sure others do. I would love if something like this was included into a future Apex update.

Wearing Astro A50's and using Dolby and it is absolute trash. Sounds are in the front of the 7.1 and the dude is behind me. I'm about to lose my mind over here.

No sounds in some cases (no footsteps, no ziplining, no ring closing, no punches hitting, etc.), but also sounds not stopping (jump pad, zipline, machine gun, etc.).I think most of the sounds have a start, update and stop states and if any of these gets delayed because of lag or misses because of lost packets, players don't get them right. Also, the game simulates enemy movement for smoothness, but prediction errors happen at times and may cause sound and hit registry issues.

@Huntinwabits Not necessarily. I've experienced different types of audio issues as well. No sounds in some cases (no footsteps, no ziplining, no ring closing, no punches hitting, etc.), but also sounds not stopping (jump pad, zipline, machine gun, etc.).

I think most of the sounds have a start, update and stop states and if any of these gets delayed because of lag or misses because of lost packets, players don't get them right. Also, the game simulates enemy movement for smoothness, but prediction errors happen at times and may cause sound and hit registry issues.

@DoYaSeeMe the only one that you mentioned that I'm aware of that impacts me is lack of footsteps at times, bit of a major one as it usually means next game......

Relevant question: how do you know what this enemy player did exactly if you did not hear any of it? I'm curious.

Just wanna say. If your headphones do not support digital surround sound, having either 5.1 or 7.1 in your settings is the reason you have missing audio, since signals are being split to channels that don't actually exist. And therefore not heard in your headset.
If you have regular stereo headphones, use stereo audio settings.

@EThought113213 The game audio is congested with unnecessary sounds like announcers dialogue the new kill leader loud sound that you can’t even turn off, healing way louder than footsteps especially if you’re healing near the ring you’re basically deaf any footsteps is drowned out.. Even the devotion has a bug where it makes 0 sound when shooting it

I'm saying it may be a settings issue, this problem was talked about before on the forum involving CM's where the game would not switch to stereo output due to soundcard settings being grabbed by the game, which caused people's client to use surround settings like 5.1 or 7.1
That doesn't mean stereo is trash, but driver setting are required to be compatible with the hardware that is being used.
If you wanna hear actual trash audio. Specifically footsteps give Fortnite a try lol.
