Awful community

I have played many online games with other people.. I have dealt with toxicity on every game I have played that has online play... but nothing comes close to APEX. Teammates who consistently solo jump to there own spot because they didn't like where you wanted or your teammate wanted to go. Teammates who talk * for no reason and are just rude af in general. The amount of ego and pride is insane and I play at a lower rank.. I had people brag to me no wonder you are gold we are diamond players! But sadly they weren't saying it in joking manner to be a troll (which would have been better) they were actual real diamond players on a gold "smurf" account bragging about being diamond players and they actually meant it. They amount of ego and pride that one individual has to have to brag about this in a serious manner to me is nuts. People not communicating then going down and blaming their teammates, people who don't share loot, people who act like they are rank 1 but are awful.

  • I think this happens in every game not only in Apex Legends.
League and overwatch are perfect examples for rank bragging and "I'm a diamond smurf" not only Apex.

I definitely understand your point but like in every community there are some bad apples.
If you don't focus on them and find/create the community that you like your opinion will be different definitely.

I see you find your way to AnswerHQ, well stick around and find some player to play with, I also recommend checking out the Apex Legends discord
Really cool community over there and friendly players over there and there is a solid LFG (Looking for Group) system.

Give it a shot, I hope your opinion on the community changes 🙂

  • @SWgeebz I solo queue a ton almost exclusively. I would easily argue that the vast majority of players are not toxic. Yes many rage quit.

But I'm not getting an earful of hate from most teammates. Most teammates are fairly relaxed and cool about stuff.

If you're really struggling to find a good group to game with. Then prehaps make a looking for group? If you really need someone to game with you're welcome to add me. My user name is the same as my forum name, I'd be happy to game with you but I'll warn you I'm on console, so if you're on PC I'm likely going to struggle.

    @SWgeebz

Build rapport. Whilst in process of character selection screen be the first person to say hi in mic.

Successfully surviving initial landing battle gives a nice morale boost for further convo.

I noticed once everyone starts talking, any mistakes seem to be more forgiven. It is like they've heard your voice, seem to be a nice person...how can I rage at him after such a pleasant greeting?

So yea be the first person to say "Hi, hows it going. Wanna land hot or not?"

I have done this. I do agree that it helps and can make things smoother. However with that being said I don't feel I should have to be fake nice to people. When I log on to play I say hi and basically go with the jump master and I am there to work as a team and try my best to help our team win. I don't need to be best friends with 2 randoms on the internet but at the same time if we are on a team together whether it be for 2 minutes or the entire match I want us to work as a team and be respectful of each other.

I play 3 games right now ... APEX, Rocket League, and PUBG. All 3 I have had toxic teammates. But I can tell you without a doubt "per capita" APEX is by far the worst. It's not even close. I might have 1-2 toxic teammates in rocket league for every 15 players I team up with. PUBG I would say its about 1 in 10. APEX I am getting around the 40-50% mark. The thing is I am not doing anything to instigate these toxic teammates. I am sure I haven't been perfect but I don't blatantly disrespect people and I always try my best to help my team win.

  • @SWgeebz if it makes you feel any better, Valorant toxicity is way worst than Apex, and the stress that you have to cope along the way.

In unranked Apex, you can quit once you die, if you (let's say) mad because of your teammates, maybe say a thing or two and just move on to the next game, while in Valorant you're stuck for another 15 to 20 minutes dealing with your teammates toxicity or even worse, the people you're going up against trash-talking you everytime you die. Even if you can mute them, it still boggles your mind cause you already know what they're thinking.

And you can't quit because if you do, the punishment is just too long to wait for and it makes you don't want to play again. I actually got a migraine the other day after playing Valorant and lost 3 straight matches from 2 hours of playing.

I've been taking a break from Apex. With everything that is going wrong with this game, to me personally, I can see that it less stressful than any other popular fps games out there and I want to play again once the new season come out.
