Tldr is that lootboxes gotta go and anyone that thinks companys need them to get by is just fooling themselfs.
@chrisragnar“Lootboxes are bad for consumers” is subjective. Some ppl like them due to the gambling aspect and sense of unknown, others don’t. It can’t be universally be claimed that they’re bad, even with the repercussions that might follow from them. That said, I join the sentiment that they’re bad. Just paying for whatever you want is always the best option.
I’ve mentioned Warframe in the past too, so you’ll get no remarks from me about that. But if you look at the way things are now, Respawn likely makes more money from people buying packs than skins, except the peaks during events (I base this of the fact that ppl want heirlooms so it may be wrong). If those packs went... it’s likely a new consumer model would be set up in addition to buying skins and if they didn’t do that and just had skins, then prices of skins would go up. All in all, all bad for business.
it’s as @hayhor said, my initial post was just to point out that the OP was wrong in his statement. I have no intent to guess what Respawn will do with their prices or go on about the ethics of lootboxes.
