Change lava design

When the map 'World's Edge' came out i was more or less sceptical of this map being the new primary map, although it's versatility, vastness and looks immediately changed that. its now my new favourite map in Apex (Not that there is much to choose from).

The Lava though

Ever since the lava streams came out in the game, they said that it would be a great way to escape battles, taking a little damage as payment. Now is it just me or is the lava a death trap, the second you fall into the stream of lava, you stay floating for a millennial, everyone starts shooting at you and you get downed instantaneously.

My idea, to change the design of when you fall into the lava, the damage you take is good/okay, its great how it is... although... you move slow dam slowly, you should move WAY faster while flying above the lava, you should be going as fast as you skydive, e.g. (You look down, you travel downward, protecting yourself against shooters, you fly up, you can land way easier and faster.

The damage you take should go DIRECTLY to your health, 25 damage.

This allows people to enter the lava stream paying a cost of 25 HP to either run away, or fight. Right now, if you enter the lava stream, you're a floating pinyata waiting to be knocked down.

discuss pls

  • @Cracjaw450  Because if i fall to my death knowing full well i'm stood next to a bottomless pit that's entirely  my own fault,if i get ragdolled by a grenade off the edge into a vent that leaves me a sitting duck eating map damage and bullets, then that's annoying. 😛

@MandatoryIDtagWell if you get ragdolled by a grenade into an instant death pit, you'll be instantly dead.
As it is now, you have a chance to live if nobody spots you or shoots you enough.

  • @Sir_Named  Yeah "If" lol, if i hear a grenade go off i'm gonna look in that direction, unless there's a wall in front of me i'm gonna see some helpless dude doing the starfish float of death. 😛

@MandatoryIDtag It is a big "if", yeah. But "if" you are in a big fight and you see the one guy floating off, you have the choice to shoot them or go help your teammates. If you want to thirst, you can, (but the box will just fall into the pit), or you could help your teammates.
Also, less common situation, there might be other explosions going on and you just don't look at all of them.
  • And if you get downed, the chance you live decreases a lot.

  • @EA_David But it's still hella punishing. Your death is guaranteed if you jump into that. It's like 'I know it will kill you, so why don't we give you a more slow torturous death'. 😛
  • @Sir_Named  If i'm playing with randoms that chance is zero rofl, but honestly speaking i do look for every grenade and gun fired, I play a sniper role mostly, it's very rare i don't have high ground so i'm always scanning for every shot and explosion looking to add pressure to both sides on that fight. A lot of players play like this especially in fragment due to the fact there's so many high buildings with vantage points.

I shared my grenade ragdoll point from personal experience, its happened a couple of times and i haven't  survived once lol. 😛

@BaldWraithSimp As I see it, it's kinda like being downed.

A lot of the time you're just not going to get away, but if it happens at a quiet time/as another squad is beaten or if you get lucky/sneaky, there's a chance.
