Fun fact: Rats actually always die first! Whenever I rat with some noobs, I always lose focus and get killed easily, also mass 3rd partying is always guarantied!
@NullEffective9 I'm not gonna argue with the validity of ratting as a tactic, I'll use it myself if absolutely necessary (e.g last man standing working on a successful team revive).
The anti ratting sentiment is more of an irritation factor though. Having a good game for example and you get deathboxed by a player hiding in some obscure hiding spot who likely hasn't moved in quite a while, will leave a sour taste in one's mouth....that's a pretty undeniable fact.
That being said, people gonna play the game however works for them....which is basically the end of it, pointless getting upset about it.

I think the assumption that goes along with being ratted is that it was what they were doing the entire game. It's this hot button thing that people whittle down to the lowest denominator so they can demonize the play method that someone just used to kill them.
I dislike going into final three as a rat, because I've had to play far more conservative and I lose some of the "heat" from being warmed up.
