Just going to say this again here... these cheating problems are not hard to solve. EA just doesn't care enough to do it. How do you do it, limit people to 1 account, require them to provide a phone number and email for the account and use that phone number or another as a multi-factor authentication (username/password/text code) to launch the game. Many games do this already and don't have cheating problems. Once people can only have a single account and know that their account will be banned for cheating, they will stop cheating.
Kinda agree on the other hand I would be one of those people who would think twice to give Respawn (given their past record of security issues including live tournament hack) my main phone number.
In my country and I know in many more you can actually buy legit new phone sim card for as little as 2 EUR or sometimes even less. Not to mention booming e-sim business = basically people who spend 50$+ on cheats can easily add a few more EUR and just continue ruining the game. Only winners in this case will be sim providers.
Additionally if we assume people have just 1 sim => Preds and streamers would cry instantly as they would not be able to create random accounts for their abusive rookie to pred runs.
Plus this integration would take away resources from skin making :D bad for business :P
- Respawn should put the hammer down (clearly they will not, cheaters have been around since forever, specially starting season 16 or so = 10+ seasons, clearly we see what is their stand on the issue = cheaters are poor people problem)
- People / community should stop being sore losers and change, embrace the fact that Diamond/Master/Pred is not for everyone, community should return to split where 3-5% are Diamonds, <1% are Masters/Preds. Work to be better and just enjoy fair play games.
- Potentially create something heavily moderated / background check type of stuff league like Faceit = people can get there only via invites, invites are tracked, if hackers are spotted we know who invited them -> put extra attention on those players. Overall encourage fair competition with vod submissions and active manual banning.
EA_Barry - stop advertising in game reporting system that is not working forever. I have not see actual case of it making any difference for past 20! seasons, despite being crazy active reporter in there and doubling-down on many people via web form and submitting clear vods that noone on your team even watched (still 99% of videos have 0 views and players in them still play the game). Better just be quite than to "spit in our faces" copy/paste template misinformation.
Feel free to prove me wrong - I will give you names of reported players and you tell me why they still around :DYou might be right, some people will go to great extents, but most won't. Therefore, it can still be an effective deterrent. In terms of the remainder and the lack of an effective system, they could do better. Detecting various inputs hacks like steam configs, controller hacks, etc. can be done. It's a computer, they can log/analyze the data and automatically ban (especially now with AI), it's more about the cost and resources to do it. They don't want to invest. Instead they have a crappy system that doesn't really work that makes people think they are doing something about the problem.
