Cross-Progression Deleted My Account

So about two years ago I had tried to cross-progress my account the day it came out. Upon doing so, it was supposed to take the progress from one of my accounts (Xbox/Microsoft) that had the highest level, stat progress, skins, coins, and whatever else etc. and transfer it over to my PC account. Upon doing the process as posted by EA, it instead removed all account progress, and everything along with it, thus resetting my account all the way back to zero as if I had never played the game before. So instead of taking the progress from my veteran account, and transferring it over to PC, it took my nonexistent PC profile, took that information, and corrupted both my pc AND my Xbox account rendering it useless. Better yet, I have tried numerous times over the last 2 years to try and recover what I once had. With the ability to provide proof I had the account, what I had in the account, purchase history with exact dates and times, and yet, nobody is willing to help me. Or even reimburse me. I know what progress I had, I know what clan tag I had, I can probably even tell them my rank history, and yet it doesn't matter. Nobody had helped me.

I am FURIOUS. I understand it is just a game, but I put hours of my life into it, and hundreds of dollars. All for it to be lost to some new mechanic that was attempted to be implemented. And due to this FLAWLESS process, I lost my account and everything along with it. I WANT MY ACCOUNT BACK.

PLEASE.

I was told to post here and the team would look into it better than in the chat that was for lack of a better term, useless in aiding my issue. So I'm hoping by some miracle, the team has a CHANCE at reading this and providing me with at least a person who is willing to sit down and help reimburse what I lost. I can provide an infinite number of details about what I had.

So please, someone help me. I'm begging at this point. I need help.

(p.s) I have attachments and images to provide for proof of everything, including in-game items like heirlooms and me with them, as well as purchase history, but I'm not comfortable posting that publicly.

    Hey schlattrocket,

Sorry to hear you've been running into some issues getting this cross-progression situation sorted out. It definitely sounds like you had quite a bit of time and effort put into the account, so I did want to clarify what took place in a bit more detail.

Just to clarify, progress is stored on the EA account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc. This means if you link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress. Cross Progression lets you access the content on your EA account from whichever platforms are connected to that same EA account, but it does not allow you to transfer progress between separate EA accounts.

Whenever you unlink a platform from an EA account, there's a chance that progress will be lost permanently. In some situations re-linking the original platform to the original EA account can recover that content, but that is not always the case.

In this case, it looks like the Xbox account was connected to this EA account back around the time Cross Progression was initially announced. Since you mentioned having quite a bit of progress and content on your Xbox before Cross Progression however, that must have been linked to a different EA account at the time. That would be why you didn't see any progress and it appeared as if your account was instead reset - this was not actually due to Cross Progression itself, but unlinking that platform from its original EA account.

We are not able to manually grant content, so the only way to try recovering that would be to re-link your Xbox account to the original EA account it was connected to before this current account. That unfortunately does not guarantee everything would be restored, especially after a couple years, but that would be the other option at this point to try recovering the progress.

If you no longer have access or can't recall which EA account was used before this one, please get back in touch with the support team so they can try to help make sure the original accounts are connected.

Would you be able to see what account it was beforehand? Or should I just try and check every email I've ever had and hope for the best? Also under which tab in the support section would I go to in order to find the right person to help find the other ea account I had

  • They helped me find my old account, which was great, then I re-linked it to the original account that I had my progress, stats, skins etc on, and I am now staring at a screen that shows me what I would see as if I had just restarted all over again. I linked it to the original account, where I had my progress, and instead of granting me access back to my apex account that I created in 2019, it wiped it clean, and I am back at square one with nothing.

Sorry to hear that, schlattrocket 😔

If that's not showing any of your old progress after re-linking the accounts, then that sadly would have been lost with the initial unlink. I'm afraid at that point there wouldn't be any other options we'd have to try restoring that content.

  • they told me to come back here, and to ask for someone on the team, to help reimburse me, because the advisors in the chats cant do that for me. and to come here, and be put into contact with someone who can. so if there is someone who can reimburse what I lost, then neither party has to go through an excruciating process. Can you or someone else help me with this like I was just told Mako? i'll make

We can certainly pass along feedback for how something works, but we cannot reimburse you for purchases or anything that was lost due to unlinking an account, nor is there someone particular that can be contacted for that to happen. I'm sorry to say you've been misinformed in that regard.

The only way to restore anything lost with an account unlink is to re-link the original accounts. Anything that is not restored automatically at that point is permanently lost.
