Current stance on Third Party Software (recording / keyboard / mouse apps)
I've been having a discussion with my friend about macros in Apex and it got me wondering about their current stance here, especially regarding their legality. Since there are a lot of different ones like movement based, ranging from small consistency improvements to borderline cheating (tap strafing on controller, super gliding, lurch strafing, ...) and the other kinds (removing recoil, ...)
This raises a few important questions for me:
- Are these kinds of macros allowed in Apex Legends?
- What is the stance of game developers, like EA, on using such macros?
- What is the stance of third-party software (keyboard/mouse apps, OBS, etc.)?
- What happened with the CFG editing?
I would appreciate your outlook on this since I don't want to get banned for doing something that I didn't know was against the rules.
This is from the users agreement :
Use or distribute unauthorized software programs or tools (such as "auto", "macro", hack or cheat software), or use exploits, bugs or problems in an EA Service to gain unfair advantage.

Here are some answers to your questions:
- Are these kinds of macros allowed in Apex Legends? NO
- What is the stance of game developers, like EA, on using such macros? I do not know about others but as far as EA is concerned it is cheating
- What is the stance of third-party software (keyboard/mouse apps, OBS, etc.)? Read the user agreement.
Bottom line is this: Play fair, stop trying to find a way to gain an unfair advantage.
