But when some players act like they're intentionally trying to be bad, then I honestly see no need to stick around. The moment someone in my squad parts too far from the group, or do everything else but fight an enemy squad, this is honestly more damaging for the gameplay than me leaving when someone was obviously not being a team player.
Or what makes me - in your eyes - a worse team player than the guy who runs 200 meters away and parts from the group, so effectively my squad mate and I are are a 2-man squad? I'd like to hear an explanation from your side. Because so far all I heard was "Peri bad!"

@Peri_Longbow_plzOh, I can answer you this one 🙂
You are worse than the guy going 200m away because you've already drawn the conclusion that he's not a team player, while there's a chance that he is and knows well how to support his team even from that distance. If you want to be better, stop judging and jumping to conclusions. Be more patient, communicate more, try to look at things more objectively.

@DoYaSeeMeHmm... You might be right about this one. Perhaps the guy found a secret that gives him a necromancer character to revive his dead team mates without a drop ship that screams "Come here, free kills"
I don't really need to jump to conclusions. If I go down and the enemy team already fully healed up and looted our boxes, the support came way too late. And unless the ally that was 200 meters away has a Crypto who can drone his way to our boxes to collect the banners safely, I don't see any too lucrative way obtain our banners. Because as well all know, the enemy team can tell if we were parted from our team mate or not, because they didn't say the voice line "That was the last of that squad", so chances are they're gonna camp us for that last kill.
I appreciate the attempt but... No. 🙂PS: I use voice chat and pings. So there is no way they couldn't hear me.
- 5 years ago@Peri_Longbow_plz Well, I've personally done this many times and it worked. Sure, some of the teammates left if downed or killed, but I was able to live and fight for much longer and even win solo or with the help of the other teammate. I've even been able to squad wipe alone, although I'm an average player, because I had the element of surprise and better gear.
As for the pings and voice chat, you may be wrong again. For example, I mute teammates a lot of times because I want to focus on the sounds of the game. Also, you are probably aware that there are issues with sounds missing in this game. Guess what: pings are also sounds, so they can have the same problem of not getting triggered. It happened to me a few times, I actually blamed a few for pushing unanounced before discovering this issue. And you know what other sounds keep missing more often lately? "We're being attacked by another squad!", "That was the last of that squad"...
- 5 years ago@DoYaSeeMe That's a pretty bad take. Jumping 200 metres away, you are leaving your team in a 2v3 and then setting yourself up for a nice 1v3 gangbang. If you are getting contested by a single squad(or even two in a big POI), your best bet is to land very close to each other.
Now there are situations that happen sometimes like say 6 teams is dropping in the same POI, then it's common sense to tell the team to back out to a nearby POI. If they don't, that's a different story. Again doesn't happen every game. Very extreme situation. Not enough to validate your stance.- damsonwhufndthis5 years agoSeasoned Ace
Jeez u guys are quite the chatties, I'm too lazy to read 3 pages of text lol, but anyway regarding abandon penalty, the cooldown before you can leave could be really short, so that there at least is some kind of penalty, even if it's only 10 seconds after you die..
What do I mean by that? First 10 seconds after you die you get penalty, after 10s you won't.
- 5 years ago@Peri_Longbow_plz Might wanna read my post again. A person dropping solo and leaving you alone doesn't happen that often, you are just heavily exaggerating the numbers here. That's my point. It doesn't happen often, so the leaver penalty won't affect you enough if you don't leave at every chance you can get.
I have 15k lifetime games and I have seen my fair share of solo rambos who leave the team behind to either loot for 10 mins or go solo and die. You are only providing extreme cases here. I have left maybe less than 5% games in my lifetime and so I am not the one who is gonna be affected extremely by the leaver penalty.
Guess who? People who leave as soon as they are downed, people who go solo and die, then insta quit. They are the ones who will have to suffer the consequences. Because they do it a lot.
And that's what we are asking for. Maybe make a system where repeated offense gives you a harsh penalty. If you don't leave games as you claim, you have nothing to worry about.
