Did I see this right? Rev skin is going to be $50?

Well I guess $43 because you get 7 packs. Arent legend skins normally $18 at most?

@BaldWraithSimp does it say that specifically every single skin can be bought for direct purchase or made with materials? I'm always skeptical of generalized statements like, "Items will be available for direct purchase."

Because it's open to interpretation, a half-truth if you will. As long as they put something up there for direct purchase / made with mats, they can't technically be called out on it. Technically they haven't lied, because there are items up for direct purchase, and now the disappointment falls onto the consumer for wrongly interpreting a statement.

Edit: If it does say specifically all bundled skins can be bought directly without packs, then IMO it wouldn't be a scam anymore.

  • @pastaclown"All 24 items will be available through direct purchase (for Apex Coins or Crafting Metals) and in Event Apex Packs for the entire duration of the event"
    From the blog

This can be misleading too, in a way 😛

@BaldWraithSimp As I recall, they are set at higher crafting prices than normal and Epics sell for $10 each.

There's no doubt conditioning and manipulation is going on here. Is this pack a "deal"? Sure given that 8 packs would cost 5600 at 700 per pack. But that's just it. They have successfully conditioned the community to think it's ok to have $7 Apex packs.

Then there's the heirloom itself. They start out in Iron Crown with you having to pay extra on top of the $168 for 24 packs. They "back off" by giving the heirloom at no extra cost if you spend $168. How is these even remotely accepted? Because they started with a Wraith heirloom that is only guaranteed to drop after 500 apex packs LOL!!! $168 is a "deal" compared to the prospect of opening hundreds of Apex packs for an heirloom.

Personally, I've steered clear of these collection events.  I bought a couple packs during Christmas event.  What'd I get?  A P2020 skin in one LOL!!!  and the G7 skin for the other, a gun I rarely use.  So that cured any momentary lapse in judgement real quick lol.  IMO the skins often aren't even that great.  I haven't seen more than a few I liked in each collection, so it's easy to pass up the whole idea.  I think the battle passes overall have done as good if not better.

What really irks me is they do very little to increase the cosmetic pool for the normal apex packs.  I'd like to see them start adding these event cosmetics to the regular Apex pack pool.  I've opened enough apex packs that I've been getting nothing useful for a while which also gives me no incentive to spend money on them.  If they boosted the loot pool with past event cosmetics and even battle pass cosmetics, I'd be more inclined to buy some.

@ArchAngeL-PCX I only buy BP. Spend the coins I get back on the said event or normal apex packs.

I am just letting people know how it works, most people don't even read the event blog or patch notes. Not a good thing to be misinformed.

@BaldWraithSimp Yeah I got what you meant. I sort of combined a post there. My reply to you was just the part about the prices.

I probably should have put the second part of my post in with the other in a looooong post lol. It was more of a general statement of price manipulation. Nothing directly to you. Sorry for the confusion.
