Does anyone enjoy the fast + high damage zones?

I for one think it is absolutely horrible and ruins the game when you have really tight zones where you just run the entire game.
Noone logs in to play "run from the zone". It isn't making more fights happen, you just have people fighting more in the zone, which personally I think is just annoying.
Yes, most games end somewhat fast with people all jumping to the same place, but that is mostly because there simple aren't all that many good loot spots + 60 people BR is quite low. 100+ games when Respawn?

The zone is the least important thing in the game imo. With chokes that you can't just fly over you'll eventually run in to either just getting stuck due to poor loot or having a fight in zone and then dying to the rather high-very high amount of damage it does.

  • @DrWizardo Hey, the key is to stay out of the ring. Its not there to feel like a slap on the wrist its there to let you know stay ahead of the ring or pay the price.

The game is also not to fun when you have people sitting in the ring just healing non stop. Completely ruins the game for anyone in that match looking for that last team to find out they are in the ring with 20 heat shields and 50 med kits.

So yes I highly enjoy the ring changes.

@E9ine_ACJust curious, but the heat shield would not work as well as it did before despite the changes to the ring?

@E9ine_AC I'd argue that the heal off issue is far, far smaller than the ring problem. The ring affects everyone, every single game. The heal-off is something that needs the entire game to play out and end in a favourable spot for that team.

Haven't tried, as BR is the least fun in this game, with the whole 5 sqauds left at the end of ring 2. But it didn't do the game any good the last time they made ring changes that turned it into a running simulator. These new changes that come on top of that, can't possibly have done any good, more likely just made it even worse.

Did timings and damage need any changes from the way the game had always been? No. I suspect once again that these are universal changes made at the behest of some opinionated streamer in order to allow him to rank up faster or have to edit his YouTube channel less.

On the flip side, these changes pale in comparison to the horrendous stupidity of the season 14 speed up. As long as they don't go back to that idiotic system then I'm fine with almost anything else.

@reconzero The changes were made because of the ranked system rats. It didn't work as there is a top 20 pred currently living in zone in all of their games just to get placement.

No steamer to blame here, just people complaining about compatability of random teammates. Make placement mean more they said. Well here you go.

@reconzero S14 was absolutely horrible. I know they were going for the "Hunted" feel, but you barely had a chance to loot or even win a fight before Ring 1 was moving and you had to move. It was horrible. At least this season we have Evac Towers.
  • Without mmr it would be great but with this new garbage MMR system it make the game worse than ever.
but it's obvious that devs don't care anymore anyway.

  • It is still possible to heal until round 6. It is clear that whoever that plans and does these changes have no idea about what they are doing. The thing they trying to prevent is still doable. Only affect is if you don't rotate fast you are punished also everyone has to learn new heal timings for a change that does not even fix the original issue. Even a 12-year-old kid with a simple calculator could come with better solution. For example, I can think for 5 seconds and come up with an idea to increase ring damage after round 3 if players are far away from the ring.
