Pros:
- One less random to worry about.
- One less person to share loot with.
- Quick matchmaking since it's a new mode.
*:
- More enemies. Instead of 20 teams dropping to different locations, you now have 30 teams dropping. Many places have 3-4 teams no matter where you go. The player count should drop to 40-50 people.
- Third-partying goes way up statistically. More teams = more gun fights = more teams pushing shots.
- Loot is being split even more than before - again, because there are more teams looking to find substantial loot to fight with. 2/3 of the matches I played last night were without heals and/or shields.
Overall, it's fun and offers a different pace than Squads. I like it much better than Solos, but I still think there's a lot more scurrying than actual skill with so many teams. It's easy to push a bunch of people if you luck up and get a Spitfire or Peacekeeper and they have nothing lol.

Some of mine, although I need to give it more time until the new meta settles in.
Pros:
- Better, more focused communication and easier coordination (with the right teammate, of course).
- Less loot stealing: once you teammate pings something, there's no second teammate to make your dibbed item disappear.
- More loot available, if only one or no other team lands in the area.
- Better chance to survive if remaining alone (1v2 versus 1v3).
Kons:
- Less abilities available for the team, as there's no third legend.
- Reviving is very risky, since there's no one defending.
- The mode is less about strategy an more about chance, fights need to be short as there's a lot more third partying, while landing on a weak weapon when dropping hot almost guarantees the elimination.
- If there's little compatibility between the teammates or their goals, team power is gone for good. In trios, there's at least a majority and minority, a team rarely splits into 3 solos. Going from 3v3 to 2v3 when a team breaks is way better than in duos, where you go from 2v2 to 1v2.
- There's more incentive for players to go solo right from the start, as 1v2 gives them more chances to survive than 1v3 and personal challenges like 20 bomb become more achievable (less need to finish a downed player, easier to finish an entire team during a revive, etc.). This ruins the experience for those that put more value in teamplay, as they don't have a third teammate to work with.
- Fights are shorter and less intense (unless there is third partying, but then it's more like chaos). The team that gets the first kill has more chance to win the encounter, 2v2-2v1-win, while in a trio it can often go like 3v3-3v2-2v2-2v3 (after a revive)-2v2-2v1-win.
