EA confirms Apex is dying
This is the second time I believe that EA has said Apex has underperformed financially (first time was January this year). Respawn/EA continue to prove they're out of touch with the community & don't...
@RockScorpion384 Yes, this analysis is correct. The game has been downhill feeling since season 11.
Sadly, doesn't mean it's dying. Just means the game has hit the phase called 'Maintenance Mode' - they got to give just enough 'new' each season to justify the Battle Pass. It can limp along like this, cycling the Types 4 and 5 for years yet. Each year making profits because re-color skins are cheap to make but sell fast or get people to buy Battle Passes.
It's just gonna be mostly level, and limp along, like WoW and Destiny 2. Not dying, but not really growing anymore. Long timers will still play because of sunk costs. New folks will come in, maybe sticking around long enough to go from Types 4 and 5 to Type 3. The Types 1 and 2 will stay till they can't anymore, or find a new game that gets them the same or better views. They can't leave. They made it their jobs. They can't leave till they find a new job that fits their skills, and isn't already filled by it's own Types 1 and 2 (so games like Fortnite and Valorant are out, they need A NEW ONE).
It's really an ugly cycle for Games as a Service.
I don't know what you mean about types, but it is rather depressing that they're letting the game die (in the sense that is just on life support). They're releasing just enough content for people to still play, but not enough meaningful changes to improve it. Less map changes, can't even remember the last time we had a town takeover (Lifelines one is out the way so next to no one ever lands there & it's terribly designed anyway so you can get shot in every direction).
