Community Admin@Lordstuart12 I want to pop in and clarify, your title isn't quite right, it's been announced but not released/implemented.
As for when it goes live, we don't have details yet on what options will be available, but i do know in other cross-play games of ours it's an opt-in system and not obligatory.
I apologise for not using the correct terminology but I do hope that's opt in only or maybe just be able to out of of playing against pc and leave it as consoles only? Can you forward that to the devs?
