EA sack 200 testers
So, 200 employees from EA Baton Rouge, LA were notified they'd been sacked, via Zoom call. Most were QA testers on Apex.
So now we know Apex had at least 200 testers. 😯😯😯

@CCbathwaterHopefully they did it while in Caustic cosplay, to lighten the mood a little.
Oh there definitely is a decently sized QA force.
Sad to see a bunch of great people go, hopefully they'll be able to find a new job soon.
Maybe they decided to leave testing to contracted streamers, since these also get to play newer versions before release.
I thought the streamers were the ones testing and dictating the direction of the game. Seems like a waste of money to pay all those employees when the pro streamers are there. You know, cause the pros know best for what the 99% want and need.
; )
In light of the last success of season 16 with new high player counts EA closed Apex Mobile and stopped working on the single-player game. Now they lay off beta testers and cut the budget. Does the future of Apex Legends still shines bright?
The higher player count was a spike, Apex is on its way down again.
Some of the sarcasm here is fantastic.
I do happen to agree that if 200 playtesters were let go it might be because they did a bad job, BUT more likely, it is because EA set up a bad feedback system, maybe one that didn't take criticism or didn't encourage it, and now they're blaming the playtesters. Could be financial 'trouble' which means it isn't ratcheting as much as the EA graphic makers wanted, or sure, why balance a game anyway? Let's go with what streamers and esports people say.
Lel. I hope all those streamers and esports people are going to float this game with their purchases.
I mean, if they didn't have these QA's then players would have more to complain about, no?
The entire job of QA's is to check the quality of the product, sometimes things get past that.
Though without any of them, it's guaranteed that a lot of players would notice a lot more issues.
Pretty much impossible to say whether or not they are making a difference unless we could see QA in action.
