Enemy footsteps

For the love of god fix these!!

For me they are none existent leading to multiple deaths due to having no idea someone was there.

i can hear teammate footsteps from multiple buildings away to the point they actually drown out more important noises yet enemies make no noise at all.

why have teammates be so damn loud and enemies so quiet?

@MekaDeth555DrDisRespect always rages at the audio in games. Not saying there isn't an audio bug somewhere but he does do that in every game, such as PUBG, Fortnite etc.

  • Same issues for me on PC, Win 10

People can literally shove a peacekeeper up my cheeks and I would be oblivious to it until he pulls the trigger.

Astro A50 in stereo mode has great footstep sounds, except I cant play with them for more then 1 hour to have my day ruined by headaches

GSX 1200 pro Dac & Amp Sennheiser with either HD600 or GSP500 open back headphones, nill footstep sounds

Yamaha Mixer MG10GU or onboard Realtek chip, almost nill footsteps, while my friends go, OMG footsteps 24/7 and all I can make out is, I think I heard something /peacekeeper repeat

IT is super anoying as playing a BR without enemy sound que's is like playing it on hardmode

And no people need to stop with the, oh but my sounds are fine, do you even headphone bro, I can assure you, yes I do with the above hardware.

Please Fix, it is super anoying.

If that was a shot at me, I wasn't trying to be  facetious by asking if he used headphones, this issue seems to be happening with certain headsets. The more info the Devs know the faster they can fix the issue.

Thanks for taking the time to post and share your feedback with everyone.

For those seeing an issue with audio, can I ask on what platform you are playing and what audio device you are using?

If for example, you can only play audio in stereo then you need to ensure that you select this both in-game and on your system, if for example you have stereo headphones and are outputting sound in surround then you will see issues.

    Sure thing Darko.

I'm using a Logitech G230, which is a stereo headset, audio output for everything is set to stereo. Im playing on PC. I saw a thread that featured a video which displayed something very similar to what I experience and the OP said to make sure the default frequency (from the windows playback device properties) was set to an appropriate level. He claimed it worked for him.

I initially experienced good results but it likely was a sort of placebo effect. The problem is as bad as it was before.

I have a good video of it I had ready to post but it had a lot of swearing in it ....lol. since it's supposed to feature audio I can't really edit it. If you'd like I can pm it to you.

I'll try to get a good video of it and keep my cool next time and make a detailed bug report.

  • That's strange. Footsteps are regularly the first giveaway for me when I'm in tight quarters. I almost thought that their footstep volume was slightly raised, similar to how Overwatch does it. I even sort of wish my teammates steps were just a little more quiet.

Although I have a decent surround sound headset I normally just wear it around my neck for the mic and let the game audio play from these really old-looking speakers that barely look like they are from this millennium.

I have similar problems in this regard,

Playing on Win10, using  Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma

In other games like Pubg, BF4, BF1, CoD...etc. I can perfectly trace people behind the walls just by listening to their footsteps, so sometimes inexperienced people call me WH. I mean the surround sound of my headset works perfectly. But in APEX I can't hear any footsteps when people get close. I can't hear anything even if the gun barrel sticks to my butt... (I only hear the sound when people slide.) Except for my teammates, their footsteps loud and clear even when they crouched. Also I can hear the revive sound of the enemy at very close range (almost point blank range) but I can not hear the sounds of healing/armoring items even at point blank range. When I try to healing myself enemies hear it from far away and they rush at me. But i cant do the same, cuz i dont hear any heal animation sounds. This is a huge disadvantage for me.
