Enemy names & spectating

I'm curious how much people even pay attention to who kills them, who they kill and how much people spectate. Personally, I rarely even look at the name or stats of people I kill or am killed by. I don't even pay attention to dive trails anymore. I simply don't care. As soon as my team is dead, I'm looking for the next match. I have a buddy that likes to stick around and spectate after we get killed, and it drives me crazy!! I ask him what the point is, all the time, and he says he's just watching. I tell him there are streaming apps for that... We're trying to game at the moment, Lmao

What's the general consensus? Do you check names/stats? Do you spectate? Genuinely curious, as I know there are a lot of different play styles and whatnot. I'm just not one to spectate after my demise, or care about who killed me

    @dSKyNafinchin

    I do not really check any of that.

    However I will spectate a bit after the squad is eliminated if I suspect a cheater or teaming.

    In ranked if I am down and out early for some reason I will stay connected and spectate so that I can give my teammates tips etc and hope to help them help me get positive RP .

  • @dSKyNafinchin 80% of my spectating after death is when my team is wiped at 6 - 4, so I can watch the team that killed us get destroyed "or slightly rage if the other squads ignore them", other 20 is just me leaving the room. I usually play with randoms so I always look at their banners - mostly at level, so I groan when I get matched with people who remove everything "including level", if i'm jump master I can gauge a decent landing spot based on them. Noobs are rarely good at being j.m, nor can they handle immediate fights, this becomes a problem if the third is in 200 - lower 400 range cause they play like it's Warzone, if their j.m they prioritize landing one either 1-2 squads or dog pile hot drops and immediately disregard looting to fight, generally because they think the other squad has little to no loot "99% never the case" then start blaming others when the 1v3 fails despite not giving a heads up, this season I noticed these idiots only carry a single gun to these instances just to blame all the more. Alot of that gets worse if it's W.E or Olympus. As for general feed, I don't pay as much attention, I do glance at it but knowing exactly who kills who when it doesn't involve your squad isn't vital in a general match.

  • @hayhor@Asmodeus566I suppose that makes sense. Just to clarify, I'm talking about once the whole team is dead. I stick around for potential placement RP in ranked, even if my banner times out, because I'm garbage and need my RP. I rarely pay attention to it in pubs though

    @jaygates879Lol my bad! I only use the black hole badge, and my total kill tracker. I'm around lvl 100 on "1st prestige", but I don't show my account level. Only exception would be the Legends that I have 2k+ badges with, which I also display for personal satisfaction. I honestly didn't consider that my randoms might be trying to get a read on me pre-drop, so I might go ahead and slap my account level badge back on there. I displayed it until I was maxed at 500 for all that time, and just got tired of looking at it

    In reading these responses, I remembered an exception to the enemy/team mate names. I do tend to check out the banner stats of people in Arena, since it's 3v3. I like to get an idea of how I need to approach the match, so I do glance at them in Arenas.

    @jaygates879 I only use Nessy badges but do have kills and wins displayed. Because of this I sometimes get called a sweat by kids.

    @dSKyNafinchin I spectate to see if someone is cheating, or to improve myself, I also usefully look at names, I sometimes even message them with a gg if they played well and didn’t t-bag me
  • @dSKyNafinchin I solo q'd most of my games and I do spectate and check who killed me. I check to see what badges they have (masters, preds, 20 bombs, 4K...etc.) and compare that to my TM's (level 24, 28). I used to not spectate, but then one day I started spectating, and noticed people using obvious aimbot on fresh new accounts. Now I always check who I died to, and if they're low level, I'll spectate to see if they're cheating or smurfing. I report them if they are, although that doesn't seem to do anything. I don't get any emails regarding any actions being taken on these cheaters or smurfs.
  • @dSKyNafinchin I usually don’t because it only gives me an excuse why I was killed.

    “Why are 3 stacking preds in my lobbies?!” LOL.

    The only time I really watch them afterwards if I can smell something fishy on how fast they killed us.
