EXOTIC SHARD RANT

LOYAL PLAYERS PLEASE READ...😒

The Facts:

I have been playing apex since season 2.

I have accumulated 322K Legend tokens currently.

...that's AFTER unlocking every Legend and any recolor I care to.

The r99 mystic coil/flatline overheat skins released with this season are RECOLORS. Plain as that.

for some(what I can only imagine as a desperate/dumb...) reason, Apex devs introduced a new in game currency; exotic shards. The battle pass only has 1 earnable set of 10 exotic shards. 

The r99 mystic coil/flatline overheat recolors are only accessible through exotic shards.

Both are worth 50 exotic shards EACH.

So either wait 4 more season to be able to EARN these skins(assuming we get 1 earnable set of 10 exotic shards per battlepass) OR PAY $40 FOR A SINGLE GODDAMN SKIN

The Problem:

EA is worth billions(plural)

Apex alone, as of a few months ago, is worth a billion in its own net worth.(Singular, but still a BILLION)

That's before Season21 dropped.

For how much money is behind this game you'd think the maintenance would take priority over the introduction of a new, completely useless micro transaction currency.

Currently, with exotic shards you can ONLY:

• BUY
• ONLY 2
• RECOLORS

So exotic shards are replacing legend tokens?

Am I to assume EA is attempting to make nothing earnable???

Which I find to be quite the slap in the face.

My dear Apex brethren, I've been through all the glitches, bugs, unbalanced character perks/abilities, and none of that bothered me. Hell it was fun. I have been one loyal player.

but THIS, OF ALL THINGS is some last straw bullsh*t for me

The Solution:

If you needed a financial boost you should've made heirlooms purchasable or done another event. EA has the time, money and resources to do either or both.

I don't know why you guys made exotic shards. There's literally no other reason other than to replace legend tokens, and financially prey off players EVEN MORE. Both look bad.

Extremely disappointed that the Apex devs no longer have actual gamers as part of their crew or even at least let them have a say in matters. The fact that you introduced new micro transactions instead of utilizing legend tokens or profiting off of what players already wanted (heirlooms) proves exactly that. And it shows.

Of all the issues that have come to pass, THIS problem inspired me to write a small essay on how big a f*ckup these "exotic shards" truly are. 

I will be boycotting any/all purchases until exotic shards are taken out completely, I encourage other players to as well.

If this is not fixed by next battlepass...then this is my stop.
