I see what you are saying here and how people were having errors caused by GPU updates. The problem here is Apex Legends actually runs excellent on my machine and never crashes except when pressing the "report player" option. In fact, it has run great for me since those two seasons where they first added E-District and the graphics kept glitching. I think it was seasons 20 and 21, and they must have fixed it right after that because I have never had any crashing at all except when the recent cheater issues started, and it only happens right when I select the "report player" option and press it.
It has happened to me three times this week, once when I told a member of my squad that the Bangalore with us was a boost bot and I was reporting the player. She was throwing her smoke bomb over and over while punching a wall, not picking up a gun and doing nothing else, and she had a number string as her name. Right when I said I was reporting in the chat my game crashed. The other two times were also situations where I was in the middle of reporting a cheater, and the game crashed. I believe there is something in the hacks they use that are designed to crash your game whenever you select "report player."
I agree with you that GPU errors with updates can happen, but in my case it's a little too coincidental that it is always when I'm reporting someone, and with the current cheater infestation it seems like it is hacks. A few seasons ago there was a hack where they would send you back to the lobby with cartoon characters on your screen. However, these hacks completely crash your game and close it out.
