Grrrr recoil

Okay I've had about enough. I watch through my kill cams and have noticed one major thing. No one that kills me is dealing with recoil. There aim and weapons don't move they're basically locked on and it doesn't matter if I'm moving up, down, left, or right.

What gives? I feel like I'm fighting my controller constantly just to stay close. I'm playing on a Xbox one s, SMH!

It starts to seem as if there are very few players left in this game that have to fight the guns the way the developer intended for them to be fought with. I remember years ago watching a YouTube of some kid using a 301 (in automatic mode - did it ever have a single fire mode?) to shoot people who were so far away that I could barely see them. I don't know what scope he had but he was putting them down without a reload, so full auto one clips. At a range where I would think twice about wasting ammo in a marksman weapon. Was he just good? Sure, maybe, if you need to believe that there are people who can do that. It's sad, but usually the obvious answer is the real answer. Aimbot. Zero recoil at that range without missing anything at all ever? Yeah, sorry, that's a cheater. When I look ALGS stats and the average accuracy is 30 something percent, maybe a little higher for a player who likes to snipe, then this YouTube kid is cheating. And it's just too easy to do anymore. There's no reason to believe that people aren't cheating. Please, Respawn, give me a reason to believe the game isn't infested with cheaters.
  • @Sulphurix_LXXII The spectator mode is quite misleading. Are there people with anti recoil devices? Yes but you can't tell from that as it isn't accurate.

It could be inaccurate but all I know is that I'm constantly fighting with my controller to stay on target. Where as it appears that nobody else has the same issue I'm having. It's not just one match either, it's multiple matches.

You just get used to the recoil, so it appears there is no recoil. After 4+ years of running the R301, I can beam that SOAB like a laser. I'm very accurate too with the Spitfire/Hemlock/Nemesis. You'd think I was using cheats ... until you see me with the CAR, R99, LSTAR or Havoc then it's splatter ... splatter ... splatter ...

@Sulphurix_LXXIIIf you move left and right while shooting you can cancel the recoil. I believe it's called recoil smoothing. Standing in one spot you can also memorize and move against it.

In this context its not. You can see when someone is landing shots at a distance. So while it's not perfect, it's accurate enough in this case.

@Sulphurix_LXXIIDon't let anyone fool you. People cheat a lot in FPS games, especially when you only need a simple device to effectively get a free laser.

However, the game is also incredibly quirky... there's aim smoothing, jitter aim, both can greatly reduce recoil to the point that there doesn't seem to be any at times. The game is VERY inconsistent when using those techniques though. Some games I'm dropping 4k damage quite easily, others, I'm cursing at my screen "where are my bullets going?!". Like you can't find hit boxes sometimes, or the spread of the gun goes crazy.

Games are complex, and there's a lot of things going on that are directly tied to performance with your machine and the servers. And there's cheats to literally simulate a player lagging, so who knows what else they can do.

Watch couple videos on aim smoothing and jitter aim, not sure if that works on console, and then go into the firing range. You might have done all that already, but it's worth refreshing your skills once in a while. The game is brutal right now, no room for any sort of casual play under certain ranks. I just got to Plat with an account today, and my teammates can't seem to break 200 dmg, while I'm getting 600-1000 after a fight or two.
