@Asmodeus566 And thank you for reminding me how much ea changed from their great times to now. The good old times where devs tried with all their heart to provide the best possible experience and not how to make the most money 🙂
The gamming industry changed along with the tech behind it, not just EA.
EA develops, produces and publishes great games still.
Just look at the game we play, Apex Legends, hands down the best FPS game out since 2019.
I really thought that this thread would be a sort of celebration of EA games and gaming in general and not the complaint department.
My first video game was Pong on the original Atari system, also had a Commodore Vic 20 and played Frogger etc.
As long as video games are produced I will game.
Long live Gamers and gaming communities.
@Asmodeus566Sorry but the gaming industry changing is not really an excuse here, ea was and is big enough to influence the industry in the right way and get it back to its roots where we exp matters the most… and they didn’t do it in the past and they don’t do it now, so what exactly am I here for to celebrate ? That the company exists long ? Fine I can do that, but I can also see that ea is a mere shadow of what it used to be just like blizzard…
I am from the 80s myself so I’ve seen what gaming used to be and what it was about. And it changed in a terrible way, and ea is not innocent why it is as it is… sorry man but I can’t be happy about thatapex is a great game but also a great example of monetisation madness and floated with political agendas and worldviews.
@Asmodeus566 Dragon 32 here back in the 80's, then a mega drive purely for sonic. first EA game was poker on the nokia 🥳 still have that phone somewhere.
Yes, they have come a long way, from 5 euro games to games that retail at almost 100 euros.
@CCbathwaterthats a myth , the price for AAA Titles from the early 80 up until now hasnt really changed much (and if they rather got cheaper) if you account for inflation.
I remember Pitfall 2 burning a hole of around 150 DeutschMarks into the buyers pockets. If i calculate (including inflation rate ect.) what that would be in nowadays euro currency regarding purchasing power its around EUR 165 ...

It is really impressive once you start to look at the list (quite large) of games that EA has developed/designed and or published in the last 41 years.
