Solved

Hello EA! hope you can help!

My brother and I have our own accounts of origins, we recently got a very powerful pc and wonder if we could play apex legends together but we where disappointed by the lack of split screen.

so we would like some help on how to play both of us on the same pc.

What we've tried so far is use aster and sandboxie, we managed to get origins to open up on our different accounts, (also we made another copy for the game just in case) but as soon as we tried to lunch it on one pc it said there was an error and the game didn't open. Maybe someone could help us getting working or if you know another solution.

We've been trying to figure out how we can play but have found no way until now. We would like someone to help us figure a way to play it

Thanks

  • Hello,

There are multiple ways of doing this. The best way requires two GPUs and Unraid.

Using this method you'll configure virtual machines, each one with it's own GPU.

  • Hey @Nitram_Gamer1

Splitscreen on a PC is not something that is done very often.
However, I think I have a suggestion that maybe could work and that is running 2 virtual machines.
Just throw a Windows 8-10 Iso file in there and install origin, with the right setup it should be possible.

I cannot guarantee this will be a smooth gaming experience but it's worth trying.
Just make sure the VM's get different IP's else you will have an IP conflict and both will be booted out.

(In short, what that guy above said, he sniped me 😛 )

  • @Godisbullen Thanks for your reply, the thing is I don't have 2 gpu, my only gpu is an rtx 2080, Is there a way to make it work with only one ?

    Hey @Nitram_Gamer1

You should be able to share your GPU resources, all depending on the configuration you are going for.
Just know, if you are using virilization, you won't get the best gaming performance but this should all be possible.

There are multiple solutions to do this by using VMs. There are however quite few that'll let you allocate hardware devices, like keyboard, mouse and monitors, to different VMs on the same machine. Most VMs are accessed from a separate device using some remote control tool, in which you use that separate devices connected keyboard, mouse and monitor.

Most commonly used VM tools are VirtualBox and HyperV. These are very good and free (HyperV is only available with Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise though). Sadly, I don't think these tools support the feature to configure the VMs to use specific attached hardware, at least not in any user-friendly way. You might be able to do it with HyperV and some powershell fiddling.
