Help me choose a new loadout

I don't know if everything's so well balanced now. Or the random mashup gameplay makes every weapon equally useless.

Either way, I really can't decide.

R99

CAR

Either of these good? Or is the Volt trumping?

Or should I run with a RE45 or p2020 instead?

G7 vs Hemlok

Sometimes G7 just seems to murder and Helmok feels lightweight and pathetic. Other times G7 just seems slow and pointless.

G7 vs 3030rep - similar with the G7vsHem. 30 feels nice, but it feels more like a sniper and the 3x distance often means you're battling an AR.

Running a Volt AND Re45 or p2020 - is this too close range? Stuck at mid-lengths? Feels like to have a shield shredder AND a finisher weapon tho.

Midrange and SMG or midrange and Pistol?

What weapon would you accompany a Sniper with??

Using Vantage a lot, sometimes I'll take a Marksman, as sometimes you need a weapon when your Ult has emptied and you're at range.

I feel like Ult + mid(Marks/Ar) + Close should be the load...

But, same with Ballistic, I find myself only ever really using 2 weapons. Despite liking the 3 load.

Is the 301 any good anymore? I seem to not do so great with it tho find it a nuisance in reverse.

Hemlok + SMG or Hem + pistol.

If Sniper/marks, should your other weapon be close range or mid range? Either way I feel you'll be struggling at one range or another.

Help.

30 30 is the best for midrange , I don't know about the long range as I don't do these encounters but 30 30 with ranger sight is very good for high damage poking , if someone is skilled with long range they it's a knock not only poking
  • @hayhoryou can one clip anyone from 25 to 50 meters with R301 and bruiser due to its balance and how easy to control the recoil but you need an extended mag that's the only issue with it .
as you said it's great for close quarters as well

And no one has said Havoc and Devo. Devo up close. Bruh, you can just dance around someone, hip-firing all day, goes brrrrrr. Unless the other dude gets in a +100 PK hit or one-clips you with an SMG, you're likely to win because it just keeps going. Even works fine up to short-mid.

Havoc used to have the best TTK in the game by a floor weapon, I'm pretty sure. Don't know about it now, with buffs to other guns and such. But it still slaps, and with the recoil buff you can even use it somewhat up to mid-range now as well. Though if you wanna mid-range all game R301, Hemlock, or Flatline will probably serve you better. Or some Marksman, but they don't interest me, so don't know about that boring stuff.

"Another annoying thing is you may have like 2 good games killing it with xyz weapon so think "this is my one" then it just stops working for you."

This a thousand times. And the thing you'll never, ever know is: Did the weapon stop working because I was coming up against weapons which are the paper to my rock, or because sbmm suddenly dropped me in a diamond lobby, or because a butterfly flapped its wings in the amazon. You'll just never know. Infuriating. It's why, apart from the old charge rifle or the current triple take, I defy anyone to show me a gun in this game that behaves the same way consistently, match after match.

And also: a good point about letting attachments drive your choice. I'm not entirely convinced that attachments, apart from scopes, really matter, but, like an idiot, I sure do get a warm fuzzy feeling when I find a good one.

@reconzero I find it's pretty easy to tell when MM changes. Player movement changes drastically as does their choice of guns. Better players gravitate towards the meta and never stand still.
  • Just had  a 5/4/6 1825dmg running a Flatine in singlefire and a p2020. Using Ash.

  • So my current thought is...

    Set 1:

    Midrange (AR)

Very Close range (pistol/shotgun - could go SMG)

In this set, having an AR with single fire for longer mid range, and switching to auto in close entanglements. With the vclose range for quick damage in those intimate moments.

    Set 2:

    Mideange (Marksman)

    Close range (SMG)

Gone with SMGs here for the close range as there is that crossover gap where a very close range and a marksman won't do well at.

    Set 3:

    Long range (Sniper)

    Midrange (AR)

Similar here. If you go sniper and close range you could get caught out at Midrange.

I'm probably going to favour set 1 for now and see how I'll get on.

I'll base my weapons selection based on what main weapon I fancy running, then pick up what's available. And potentially allow attachments influence selection .... if running set 1 but I have a purple energy mag I may pick it a volt as my close range. My AR will be Flat, 301, or Hem based on whats available and what attachs I have.

This also makes me a bit freer to switch between sets mid game with not too much thinking.

    @hayhor

"Better players gravitate towards the meta and never stand still."

I'm oblivious to the meta, but the motion I notice. And it irritates me. Especially when it's obviously mnk motion, but I'll say no more lest this degenerates into another pc vs. console mud sling, or worse, aim assist hand wring.

    @1ronKeys

My takeaway there is sheer wonder at the notion of using any automatic, even an AR, as a midrange weapon. I know people do it. I've seen it on YouTube. It always looks to me like "proof of aimbotting," but I know that isn't always the case, or probably even often the case. It sure does look like it though.
