What do you guys prefer:
- Having a game with a really high kill count and high damage, but not taking home the win
- Winning a game, but with maybe 0 - 2 kills
- Winning a game with high damage (over 1K) and maybe 3 - 4 kills?
Too few options in the OP.
What's better, killing 5 noobs with Mozambiques and no/white armor on them or dropping a purple / gold kitted Apex Predator?
Wins over kills, every time.
Even if you have a good game with 8 kills and good damage, it still stings when you get eliminated. But satisfaction is always gained from a win.
Level of adrenaline and enjoyment goes as follows:
1) Playing with a squad that makes strategical maneuvers above all.
2) Top 3 with decent kill count.
3) Champion status with squad that takes minimal damage (no matter the kill count).
4) Top 5 solo with the final stages of the ring. Intense!
5) High kill count right out the gate before death in early stages of match.
Least favorite match:
1) No weapons or decent armor for the first few minutes before inevitable early death.
2) Looting half the match with subpar weapons, attachments, and armor while dying before making the top 10.
Depends on the day but I will never go out of my way to go Rambo.
I am very critical about which games deserve to be treated with a competitive mentality. I can try my best but I won't get ****ed up over a loss because BRs simply have too many random/unreadable elements to be taken seriously. Even though skill can triumph, it's not like CSGO or R6:Siege where you have a controlled and balanced scenario to work with. And that's absolutely fine, in fact the chaos is a big part of the appeal. If it wasn't then I have a good couple of decades worth of other shooters to choose from.
As a footnote my stats are ruined anyway. Someone stole my account when I was busy and they had clearly been idling in games for free XP (either that or they were bringing a controller to a mouse fight). Tbh I was a bit disappointed that their is no punishment for being inactive for literally hundreds of games. Support told me that they couldn't roll it back but fortunately I travel from a time where gameplay drove us to continue playing, not personal records or achievements.
If you don't win, what's the point of kills? Like you are just one of a few dozen of people who got killed and didn't make it to the end, no matter how good you are at killing, and you probably got outplayed by someone with less kills because they are more clever.
Also I feel like 80% of the kills people get in this game are from third partying others, so if course you are going to get kills fighting someone who doesn't have full health and shields. Then there is kill stealing from your own squadmates etc.
So while there are definitely players out there who are good at getting constant high number of kills, I just don't think they matter in BR games. If you are all about kills, there are games that are all about getting kills, why not just play those?

Like getting fastest lap in races but never winning. What's the point?
High kills means nothing to me. Kinda like playing Domination but not playing the objective. If kills alone are peoples "thing" I don't get why they play a BR. TDMs and FFA are the way to go, but then you come against other players who are also there just to kill, so it becomes harder.
Easier to use a different game mode where players are doing different things so it can be exploited for stats.
