Horrible matchmaking, script/macro usage and hackers. How do you enjoy S16?

Apex became insane to play. It's just getting worse and worse
As the game stays out for longer, the skill gap will increase, yes, but this game is not suffering from that, At least not while that is on it's own.

Matchmaking is horrible. It's absolutely horrendous. It hasn't been fixed, you just have a different kind of bad random matchmaking
I don't even know how it works, I tried reading through your blog post but it's not clear at all
I keep getting diamond and master players in my lobbies. AND YOU TOLD ME IT WONT BE HAPPENING WITH THE NEW MATCHMAKING! Based on my skill. I get like, 30 horrendous games, then I get one single game where it feels like everything got balanced. Then I do well, and then I get matched against masters again!
And then there are my teammates. Nothing against randos, but they are often of lower level and lower skill. You told me you are going to be matching based on the value of "carry". You want to reduce the skill gap in the squad, so you match everyone equally, within their squads, but I still get lower skill players. YES IT'S OKAY IF YOU'RE CHILL AND OF LOWER SKILL, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST YOU! I'm just mentionign this for this post

Plus, you said how you're aware that kind of matchmaking system wont be fair for people in the server, but it will be more fair for people in the squad. Which is just... WHY
So you're telling me you're taking priority of matching like... all masters that queue up into the lobby together, rather than matching the whole lobby equally. Because of some "carry value"
So you can have random masters getting a 3 stack, and then have like, level 20s in the other squad. In the same lobby...
give me a break. I just love how you acknowledge that it wont be fair, too

Not to mention, there are so many smurfs who abuse the already horrible matchmaking.

Just beaming all over the place, or snapping through walls, or seeing through smokes etc
In majority of the fights I die after peeking for a tiniest bit of time, because I get beamed instantly. Then I spectate and it's some low level player who doesn't even holster the gun while running, has horrible tracking while shooting, but for whatever reason their recoil doesn't exist. Better recoil control than pro players but they can't track anyone
And it's happening constantly
Because you can literally see in the spectating camera when the gun wants to move around while you shoot it, and you can see people controlling it, because it's never perfect. And then you can also see when the gun is standing perfectly still like it's a clamped down water hose spraying water, where the bullets go in a perfect straight line with 0 deviation.
And then you also enable config files and console commands to be edited. So people can macro jumps for Neo strafing and also delete particle effects so they can see through all of the smoke even. So many times I just get beamed with r301 through bangalore smoke, even though I'm standing behind the smoke at some distance, so I can't be seen inside of it. I just don't understand

Then again, half of those people could be hacking, because it's impossible to tell them apart at times

How do you even enjoy playing Season 16? You either have to play the game 30 days in a week for 40 hours per day. with no breaks, be an absolute sweatlord, or you have to macro the hell out of the game. Or you know, just good ol' hacks. there is no other way to be successful
You are not allowed to enjoy the game if you play it casually, or if you have a job/go to school and come home and want to relax. You can't play anything else other than Apex, either. You can't go with an off-meta loadout, or evne a meme loadout to have some fun

And it's so sad

Wasted 10 bucks on a BattlePass like a *. So now I'm playing because I don't want to feel like my 10 bucks is going to waste lol

Please for the love of god at least fix the matchmaking I am begging you. What you did is like you swapped punctured tires on your car for other punctured tires. It makes no sense, nothing has been fixed. There was a change, yeah maybe, but it makes 0 difference
Please fix the matchmaking. Please. there is nothing rewarding in playing 30 games and getting stomped, then having one good game, then back to 30 stomp games.

I hear you on the Apple front. I'm a mac guy through and through, but all the iOS devices seem very unapplelike to me. All the cost of Apple with none of the user-friendliness or durability of a mac. That said, I once owned an Android phone and that lasted all of about two weeks. The handset was very nice, but the OS was the most atrocious thing I've ever seen. Basic functions buried layers deep in menus it took hours to find if you ever found them at all. This is the best that one of richest companies on the planet can engineer? If chatgpt puts them out of business it would be completely justified, imo.

@F0XYB0IARBLE I'm right there with you, my dude. I experience everything you describe on the regular.

For the love of god, Respawn, fix the matchmaking & add some sort of anti-cheat that actually works. Two factor authentication to make smurfing more difficult would be great, too.

@reconzeroWell, yeah, that's what I meant - not technically cheating by the publisher's own standards, but cheating in a way because you can manipulate the ranks/mm. Either way I stopped caring long ago about it.

Bro, I'm literally telling you it can if you "gel" with the hardware/settings anyone can be beaming. Not to say anyone will gel with using mouse, but it seems it's what I'm best at, and I was pretty proud of my controller aim mind you.

Back when I played mostly fps on PC but for some reason I downloaded Apex on PS and just let it happen, unlocked stuff and yeah... The difference is night and day for me when I switched. My console experience was teammates quitting and not even trying to go for a rez pretty much 60-70% of the time. For some reason I'm only seeing that maybe 20% of the time on PC. The game just has become so much more enjoyable because of that alone. I'm telling you bro, it's a different mindset, probably because the older crowd plays PC I guess. Not trying to convince you, just reporting what I am seeing, but if you're happy do that 🙂

I got a new expansion for Destiny 2 with single player content to respect my time and scratch that shooter itch.

Also a new living season of Guild Wars 2 to get to.

THAT is a compelling argument. Not compelling enough to get me to buy the kind of pc it would take, but very tempting just the same.

@reconzero Remember man, my experience was the same as yours, and I was on PC.

The matchmaking, and endless cheats, that is the problem. The game is not the product, we are.

Currently on console and i am running into players in TDM who are brand new able to beam me across the map and track me with ease as i am running, i peak get one or two hits and next thing i am destroyed and rolled by them. In BR i end up against Masters and Preds and anything in-between that basically has no life at it or they are using strike packs etc to play, it's becoming to the point where it is no longer fun, even TDM is no fun after two games as next moment you go from doing well to being put against people who are just way better than you and your team and your team even quits mid match which i report every single one of them for as it is game abandonment regardless of game mode. But things need to change heavily.

I played on both console and PC. PC definitely has more team mate cooperation by a mile. But the skill ceiling is different level on what you'll face.

So by choice you have better team mates but it means opponents will be more skilled.

Or play on console where most love 1v3 wannabe pros watched too much youtube fanatics and ignore team cooperation. but the opponents will be on more equal footing in skillset.

This is not a statement saying console players do not play as a team. It is because consoles are more accessible to younger players and PC does have more mature segment of players. Got no stats to back this up, just watch how they play in terms of team sportsmanship if you play on both platforms and decide.

My friends used to refuse to play with me unless I switch to PS5 for console lobby only, then I moan at them because I want to use my 360Hz monitor at it's fullest even though probably my eyes can't see difference past 144Hz anyway.

Advantage of console is the the cheats are more "minimal" compared to PC can do. i.e. Console can't see through walls or infinite charge rifle.

So no best platform to play on. You're gaining or losing something either way in this game in terms of team mates, opponent skills and cheating extent.

Anyway plenty of other shooters to enjoy in mean time where you walk away knowing you enjoyed your evening. Look at Steam coop PVE games and it's great list of them.

true, it seems there are some sneaky cheaters and a lot of wh/radar users, just stop paying for skins, bp, personnally i haven't spent a dime
also stop playing for a while -have not played 3-4 seasons, thinking something might change, but its all the same, incompetent support and lame anitcheat, what is the point of anticheat when u need to report cheaters...
ea is still the worst company and wont improve
