How do you unlock 3 player mode?

I always go duo with a friend, but we always drop as 2. how can you unlock 3 player mode? because we always fight enemy squads with 3 appreciate the help

    Ahhh i'm familiar with this issue.

    So basically if there isn't enough kamikaze mouth breathers left in the matchmaking queue  to sabotage your match, the matchmaking system works around it by just not giving you a team mate at all.

    People thought RNG was the biggest troll in apex....turns out it's the matchmaking system. 😉
