@Koochi-Q I'll play on a easier mode to start with, blitz through the normal missions then start the torture and search for the secret encounters and the rest I missed in insanity + after. Got my 1 hit wonder demon Excalibur thingy last night then had to take a break as I'm the same, it satisfies my bloodlust but it's exhausting too and also I drank to much, which is why I can't remember what it's called. xD

@apostolateofDOOM I do quite the opposite. I like to play at a harder difficulty cause that usually gives me a challenge. When I’ve done that and like the game and have some stuff left to do, I do it on an easier mode unless the harder difficulty was actually already easy.
The game is lying to me! I know for certain that those Empyrean keys (excalibur key thingies :P) are invisible for me for whatever reason. Today I was standing right where one was supposed to be. I knew it 100% certain without having to look up where those keys were. So I thought that I maybe had to do the 2 encounters of that lvl. Did that, went back, nope. Thought I had to do every battle in that lvl, nope. So I googled it and my suspicion was correct. It was supposed to be there but wasn’t. No one online mentions why it’s invisible.
So I knew that in prev missions I didn’t just ‘look past it’. I explore thoroughly and the fact that I only miss those things in all maps, every darn time, made no sense.
So I know that playing with cheat codes on lvl select lets you not get the keys... I had the first one on, but seeing as cheat codes dont work on actual campaign I just left it toggled on and forgot it after first mission. I turned it off now, next mission is Mars mission. If I do see the key this time this game is ridiculous! Denying me something due to the game’s own decision to keep a cheat code toggled on, in a mode where it doesn’t even work!
Lets investigate... I’ll share my findings.
Have fun drinking and massacre’ing. Thats the way to do it!

- 6 years agoUpdate to my prev post. So if you have the in-game supplied cheat code(s) on, which by the way for all you ppl already thinking ‘noob you have to use cheat codes’ are only active in chapter select, the keys aren’t in their spots even if you play the regular campaign.
So dont turn on the codes. When I turned it off and played the BFG-10000 mission, I saw the key so it was likely due to code being on that I didn’t see any before.
Happy demon hunting all <3
Altman be praised...
Wait wrong game.
Rip and Tear!!! (If you understand, I know where you are 😜) - 6 years ago@Koochi-Q If by rip and tear you mean the sword that's what I meant by one hit wonder as that's not long after BFG-10000 but then the BFG-9000 is basically 1 hit too. Excalibur was in my head cause of the keys. :P
Haven't played today but will be on it again tonight.
Not used cheat codes but I probably will when I crank the difficulty up to max as I'm not ashamed to say I'll need them. xD - 6 years ago@apostolateofDOOM I have no idea what kind of sword you’re talking about :P if you read the lore & watch the cutscenes you know what Rip and Tear refers to.
I’d only need the codes for the 1 life or set lives on hardest difficulty. All other difficulties I could do without.
I’m gonna wrap it up tomorrow 😜 then do the demon gates to get the OP gun... and tear away again! ;D - 6 years ago@Koochi-Q Oops... spoiler alert! :P
I don't pay attention, especially in DOOM, just mindless run and gun. xD - 6 years ago@apostolateofDOOM Since you mentioned cutscenes and such I checked the codex and there's a whole story and lore in the game.. Who knew? xD
- 6 years ago@apostolateofDOOM LOLZ I knew... EVERYONE knows except you 😜 you’re like a buddy of mine. Whenever we used to play games (co-op), he’d rush through everything because he plays that way. After 1 hour that guy’s somewhere where it’d take me 3 hours to get to simply because I take stuff in, look at the environment and read the lore XD.
Then he’d ask me “what do I have to do here” simply because he doesn’t even listen to the instructions or read the subtitles XD.
